How Good is Boston College?
With their loss to Villanova one day removed, the third ranked college basketball team in the nation probably isn’t questioning how good they really are? Last night was, if there ever is one, a quality loss; on the road, in conference, to a ranked team.
But as you digger deeper into their schedule, you start to realize, this team isn’t the third best team in the country and their 11-2 conference record doesn’t add up to being favored in their own conference tournament.
For Once- They Got It Right
They never get it right.
Never.
But Monday at Stony Brook University, the Section XI Division I wrestling coaches got it right: Chris Iorio was voted Most Outstanding Wrestler.
We’ll Miss You Reggie
After 18 distinguished season in the NBA Reggie Miller has decided to call it quits. I will always remember May 7th, 1995, we were in the midst of a championship season in Little League but the game meant nothing to me. May 7th was Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Playoffs between the Knicks and the Pacers. My dad – along with every other father – was on the sidelines busy listening to the game on the radio. Every 15 seconds, whether I was on the field or not, I was yelling to my dad for an update on the score. By the ninth inning the game was, for all intents and purposes over.
The Commonwealth of Mass Euphoria

Who would have thought they’d live long enough to see it?
I’m not talking about the Red Sox winning the World Series. I’m not talking about the Patriots winning the Super Bowl, once an unthinkable concept that never crossed our minds during the Tony Eason/Hart Lee Dykes/Zeke Mowatt era of the Patriots in which I grew up. I’m certainly not talking about the Patriots winning three out of four Super Bowls, which during my high school years in the mid-90’s seemed about as likely as my chances of getting with Tiffany Amber-Thiessen.
The more things change…
I don’t know where to begin.
For the last year, the impossible has been done time after time.
God Denies Any Involvement in T.O. Healing
[Ed note: We’re going to make Wednesdays “Sports Pickle Wednesday”. Especially since today is Thursday. In any case, check out the Pickle for great sports satire.]
Faced with questions as to why He would waste time and effort on healing Terrell Owens after the injured wide receiver stated: “spiritually God is healing me,” God stepped forward today and adamantly denied any role in fixing Owens’s ankle.

Former Lakers and Bulls coach Phil Jackson said on Monday that he would consider taking the Knicks’ head coaching position if team president Isiah Thomas offers it to him. But Jackson said he would have one demand of the organization.
Becoming my worst enemy
A very sobering thought occurred to me on the day following the dismantling of the modern day steel curtain in Pittsburgh. I was trash-talking my friend Nate, a Philadelphia native, who was telling me all of the different reasons that the Eagles will have a chance to dethrone the Pats in Jacksonville in Super Bowl XXXIX. I sat there, patiently listening to his arguments, and then responded to him, “Yeah, but the Patriots will still win.”
At this very moment, a harsh reality hit me: I had become a Yankee fan.

Indeed, a 3-pointer in the second quarter of a Vermont high school boy’s basketball game sealed the win for Bellows Free Academy-Fairfax, who defeated Milton 5-2. That’s right – five points to two. Bellows made two baskets while Milton made a grand total of one. No foul shots were taken.
