It was only two years ago when Drew Brees was stinking up the field, throwing more interceptions that touchdowns, on his way to the 4th worst passer rating in the league. But it seems like a millennia ago.
2005 NFL Predictions
By Adam Nelson
Who will go from worst to first? Can Pittsburgh possibly win 14 or 15 games? Can the Patriots win a fourth title in five years? A lot of questions remain unanswered, but one thing is stuck in most fans’ minds- the dominance of New England the past four years. Although they should be a favorite to win it all again, they very likely won’t, and the absence of Tedy Bruschi will be a huge reason why. Here’s my predictions for how the standings will end. I may be far off, but this is how I see it:

Will New England make it four titles in five years? Will Philadelphia make it five straight NFC Championship appearances? Is “Big Ben” for real? A lot of questions remain to be answered concerning the 2005 NFL season. Here are my preseason rankings for the teams as they head into the new year:
With NFL training camps just a few weeks away, and the start of the regular season two months away, it’s time to begin previewing the NFL season. I’ll start with the AFC East.

There are tons of great NFL players that are not chosen in the draft’s first few picks- especially when it comes to wide receivers, kickers and kick returners. His fire is the undivided and exclusive passion for the game that few ever attain. His name is Alex Smith.
I did it; I watched the NFL Draft.
I know I said I wouldn’t, but I did.
There’s been a little something missing in my life recently. I don’t know if I’m the only one who’s felt this way, but sports have left me feeling a little empty the past few months. Sure, the three Yankees-Red Sox games each day are great, and the smooth, dulcid tones of Stephen A. Smith can relax even the most tightly wound sports fan, but watching ESPN just hasn’t provided the same enjoyment for me recently. It wasn’t until this week that the origin of my problem dawned on me: I’ve been going through Michael Irvin Withdrawl.
My first Sportcolumn article has to be a Mock NFL Draft. This is the most hyped, non-game, event in all of sports. To me to it like the little brother of super bowl Sunday. NFL draft weekend, something you plan your whole week for. I mean is it surprising that on this page there are 2 other recently written Draft Previews? And look at what topics are getting all the comments. Well here is my little list. It is based on team needs, rumors, and whom I think they should take. I think I factored in all these evenly.
