USC should not get top spot

The USC Trojans should not hold the top spot in the nation.  With teams like Texas and VA Tech out there its hard to see how anyone can honestly say they deserve to be there.  Both Texas and VA Tech have had better wins against better competition than the men of Troy.

T.O. finally turned off

Finally, someone said that enough was enough when it comes to Terrell Owens. Bravo to Andy Reid and the entire Philadelphia Eagles organization for pulling the plug on the wide receiver. Regardless of talent, this is definitely an addition by subtraction.

Cleveland’s Own Baby Boom

I would rather have to give a conscious komodo dragon a hysterectomy then face the Indians in the next five years.
Despite giving away the American League Wild Card to Boston as a lovely parting gift, the Tribe only has prosperity to look to forward to in the future. After going 93-69 in what was supposed to be a “re-building” year, and having a farm system that seems to be producing future stars asexually; Indian fans should brace themselves for an epidemic that will be storming Cleveland in the upcoming summers known as “Tribe Fever”.

A Sweet Spot in Time

by Matt Waters

It’s the sweet, precious, moment in time. The natural high adrenaline can bring, the one second where it feels as if we could skate right on the Milky Way, defy gravity, the rules, the expectations, defy our common denominator of humanity.

It may happen once, twice, it may not happen at all.

Kobe or Shaq? Phil decides

To all of those who have crucified Kobe Bryant for thinking he can win a NBA title without Shaquille O’Neal, now is a good time to start planning for Bryant’s resurrection.

Japanese Catcher Brings About Mixed Feelings

Ever since Jackie Robinson broke Major League Baseball’s color barrier in 1947 the MLB has slowly become a multicultural society. During the early 90’s there was an influx of Japanese pitcher’s but never posistion players. Then in 2001 there was Ichiro Suzuki who became an instant star eventually setting the MLB record for hits. Hediki Matsui came over as well and provided Japanese born players can provide power as well. Along with all of the success stories, there have been failures as well most noteably with the Mets. As the Mariners and Ichiro shined the Mets had Tsuyoshi Shinjo, then the Yankees landed “Godzilla” Hideki Matsui, and the Mets signed the injury proned Kazuo Matsui. Now the Mets are going after catcher Kenji Jojima.

NFL Week 10 Picks November 13 2005

Another great week for the Sportscolumn crew as we averaged 11.5 games right last week. However, last week was a very easy week to pick games. The folks over at ESPN got about 11.5 right as well. We agree on most picks this week. Hopefully, there will be some upsets just so the games are worth watching. Sure, we like being right, but we’d rather be entertained on Sundays.

Don’t forget about the podcast to go along with the picks below. You can listen/download the mp3 file directly here or you can subscribe to the podcast using this feed. Owens Needs a T.O. In Order for Monster to Subside

Having personal issues is more accepted now than any other time in history.  Yet while many people have demons some have monsters.  Terrell Owens has the latter.
