Another great week for the Sportscolumn crew as we averaged 11.5 games right last week. However, last week was a very easy week to pick games. The folks over at ESPN got about 11.5 right as well. We agree on most picks this week. Hopefully, there will be some upsets just so the games are worth watching. Sure, we like being right, but we’d rather be entertained on Sundays.

     Having personal issues is more accepted now than any other time in history.  Yet while many people have demons some have monsters.  Terrell Owens has the latter.  

What an unexpected first half of the season it has been.  So many disappointments.  So many surprises.  The NFC is finally getting some respect again, and appears to be pretty strong so far this year.  Here is a midseason NFC report that will tell it like it is, complete with predictions for rest of the season.  AFC midseason report to come…

Not much changed at all in the week 9 power rankings. Almost every team ranked above their opponents won. And the week was filled with matchups of top 15 vs bottom 15 teams so nobody went anywhere. Things are more interesting when the power rankings get shaken up so let’s hope for some big upsets next week.

Editor’s note: OK, I realize that this isn’t exactly column worthy (Sportscolumn blog is coming soon!) but I couldn’t pass up a chance to post a story that is about 99% of red blooded males’ fantasy.

According to Tampa Bay Online and Fox Sports, Kristen Owen, 22 and Angela Keathley, 26, were having sex with each other in a bar called Banana Joe’s. But that isn’t a crime. (And if it is, we have problems.) What is a crime is punching the woman behind you in line after she started complaining about the long wait. When police got there, one of the cheerleaders was belligerent and resisted arrest. Other members of the Panthers cheerleader squad came to bail them out. Sadly, no sex broke out.

UPDATE: It turns out that the other cheerleader in question was Renee Thomas and not Kristen Owen. She gave the police the wrong name.

Can you believe it’s week 9 already? This season is going by way too quickly. The good news is that after a hard start, we are hitting our stride. Once again, we beat the ESPN experts .732 to .675 correct. If you want to check out how we stack up against almost every site that picks games, check out this nifty spreadsheet from Tokar.

If you’re using these picks for advice on your office pool, go with BostonMac aka Ryan McGowan. He’s been on a tear lately. Aside from his homer pick of Patriots over Colts this week, the rest are solid.

The dominant teams in the NFL used to be obvious.  Super Bowl picks weren’t the hardest thing in the world.  Most fans could make a bit of money on weekly picks assuming they were in Las Vegas or Atlantic City.  In short, winners were clear cut…

Beating the ESPN experts is becoming pretty commonplace around here. Even though we were dragged down by Trevor’s 8-6 record, we managed to beat ESPN with a total of .696 vs their .640. Also, Boston Mac was able to get higher than anyone else with a 12-2 record. This week, it’s either Teri or Vegas Vinny’s turn.

A little shakeup at the top as the NFC shows they aren’t the JV conference everyone made them out to be. Meanwhile, former AFC darlings Cincinnati drop in the rankings due to poor showing in “statement” game. Here are you power rankings for week 7.
