Mike Mussina, aging right before your very eyes. Or something like that…

Chone Figgins. In Anaheim, home of the Angels, all you need to say are those two words and it will get you praise. When you go to an Angels’ game and they announce his name the crowd goes crazy. When he gets a hit, it seems as if the crowd stands in unison and gives everyone around them a high five. You stand up as well because the energy is so intense that you feel as if you must. The home crowd loves him and so does Mike Scioscia.
Now that Rafael Palmeiro has been caught using steroids we have to wonder about whether his career was legitimate or not. He’s a Hall of Famer if his numbers are mostly untainted. Whatever the case may be he needs to tell the truth, both for his own sake and for that of the general public.
A few years ago I saw a touching NFL advert, where the players went onto the streets to say “Thank You”.
So being the world’s best advertising guru, I had an idea for MLB players to do exactly the same thing- except with slight different wording. It would be called “Sorry.” And no, it’s not ALL going to be about steroids…

A Painful Confession
Sitting down during the brutal heat of August, foreign thoughts rummage through my mind.
Damn, still two games back, and Shit, the Phils are a half game back of the Astros, and Maybe we can catch them all if McKeon could get fired or realize that he should never use his bullpen.
And then I think, Why am I thinking about baseball?
Power Rankings August 10 2005
Here are the power rankings after another week in the MLB. Questions, comments and criticisms are always welcome.
When a team has started over 13 pitchers going into August, you know that the wheels aren’t turning smoothly. And when a team signs three big-name pitchers in the off-season, with two of them on the disabled list, and the third having back spasms, it’s easy to deduce that the team is in a bit of a rough spot.
Ignorance, as defined by Webster, is the condition of being uneducated, unaware, or uninformed. George Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman combined, are the epitome of ignorance.
