Our Look At The NBA Playoffs

by Trevor Freeman

The time between the end of the NCAA Tournament and the beginning of the NBA playoffs has felt longer than usual, but maybe that is because I cannot remember an NBA postseason that had more riveting subplots.  KG out.  LeBron versus Kobe shaping up as a Finals possibility.  Genuine sleepers led by superstars like Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul sitting on the lower half of the seeding table.  There are tasty first-round matchups up and down the bracket.  With the playoffs gearing up, we decided to wade into the fray and breakdown the postseason.  Without further ado, here is our rankings beginning at sixteen and rolling through to our championship favorite.

Enter the Matrix

The American Airlines Arena didn’t have a three-story billboard of himself. There weren’t any balloons, water guns, and certainly no black SUV’s with Superman-inspired rims.

What there was, however, was a long table with a requisite Miami Heat backdrop, a few chairs, and a couple of unopened bottled waters.

And that’s about it.

NBA Finals rendition of: Who’s Hot and Who’s Not

What more is there to say?

At times, you either have it, or you don’t!

When it comes to the NBA Finals, you have to bring it every night.

You have to be prepared physically, mentally, and emotionally.

For those who can hack it, congratulations because you have made it onto the hot list, but for those who “can’t take the Heat,” stay out of the AAA (American Airlines Arena).

My Worst Nightmares

This is what I was afraid of.

Even before the teams for the NBA Finals had been decided, I could see Miami working past the teams in the East. It was no big deal because in my eyes, Detroit should have been beat by last year’s Heat team.

The worries came when I saw Dallas unearth the San Antonio Spurs.

As much as I like watching the Mavs, I was scared of what they could do to the Heat.

The only problem is, I had no idea…

South Beach Savvy

Can you feel the Heat down in your soul?

With the Miami Heat just one game away from their first ever trip to the NBA Finals, I felt compelled to give a shout out to the Boys of South Beach.

They have done a magnificent job of not only dismantling but also demoralizing the Piston team. As is evidenced by their play and domineer, the Pistons are unraveling.

Riley Wins Again: What He Knew and Why It Worked

Pat Riley is winning again.
Not basketball games. Mind games.
He took our doubts in stride, stayed faithful to the offseason amendments that he had made to the Miami Heat and never once buckled under all the questions regarding his judgment.
He stayed quiet and, ultimately, made us look like fools.

Wade vs. Shaq for Miami MVP

Lately, there has been a lot of debate on who is the best player on the Miami Heat. I’m here to say love them or hate them, Shaquille O’Neal and Dwayne Wade need each other, and the two, together, have made this season such a success for that team and they will push the team through the playoffs towards the NBA championship.

Why Shaq has been traded to my team and I am still not going to care about the NBA

Last year, I watched parts of three games during the regular season.

I watched the first quarter of the early Christmas game on ABC, I watched a Denver @ Miami game in which Miami scored 100 points in the first three quarters because it was on at Outback when I was visiting Miami, and I watched part of Miami’s classic overtime miracle on Friday night against Dallas in March. The last game was the only one that spurred any emotion.

Even with Shaq- there’s still not enough Heat in Miami

By Jeff Bartl

It is about time that I set the record straight and bring the remaining 16 NBA die-hards back to earth about the Shaquille O’Neal-to-Miami trade.

Miami’s New King Arrives

The Miami Heat’s salvation arrived today in the form of the seven foot funny man known as Shaquille O’Neal.  Shaq joked his way through the media session, but also made his mission clear.  Bring a title to South Beach.  Everyone seems to have won with the MDE (Most Dominant Ever) moving to Miami.  Well besides the team clad in purple and gold that is.
