The NBA Conference Finals in pictures

The 2009 NBA playoffs have been a total blast. Full of hard fouls, close games, and buzzer beaters, they have been an absolute pleasure to watch thus far. And luckily, the conference finals haven’t been any different.
But rather than bore you with statistical breakdowns or genuinely intuitive and knowledgeable articles about these crucial series, I will once again be your source for the number one way Americans (namely anyone who is amused by my postings in particular) choose to get their information… with pretty pictures from the internet!
So enjoy this post of the NBA conference finals in pictures, and thank me for not asking you to strain your brainpower later…

Our Look At The NBA Playoffs

by Trevor Freeman

The time between the end of the NCAA Tournament and the beginning of the NBA playoffs has felt longer than usual, but maybe that is because I cannot remember an NBA postseason that had more riveting subplots.  KG out.  LeBron versus Kobe shaping up as a Finals possibility.  Genuine sleepers led by superstars like Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul sitting on the lower half of the seeding table.  There are tasty first-round matchups up and down the bracket.  With the playoffs gearing up, we decided to wade into the fray and breakdown the postseason.  Without further ado, here is our rankings beginning at sixteen and rolling through to our championship favorite.

Make it a series- Mike!

For Mike Brown and the Cleveland Cavaliers, there are two ways to look at the reality of being down 2-0 in the NBA Finals to the San Antonio Spurs: they pack their tails between their legs and run away, or they make adjustments and take the fight to the Spurs.

For the fans of the NBA, and fans of quality basketball for that matter, we pray it’s the latter.

Former Leader of Steals Might "Take" MVP Honors

With an 82-game season, it is pretty difficult to not know who the MVP of the season is. If one reviews past years and looks at Shaquille O’Neal’s, Kevin Garnett’s, and Tim Duncan’s dominance during their respective MVP seasons, the word destiny seems to be attributed to their receiving the honor. However, this season is not so clear cut. The winner is not going to be known until the end of the season.

Initially, no one would discredit Steve Nash’s efforts in leading the Amare Stoudemire-less Suns to practically a no contest Pacific Division Title.

Well, you’re looking at an author who thinks Lebron might be honored instead if Nash is not careful.

What is wrong with the Cavs?

What has happened to the once dominant Cavs we saw earlier this year? The Cavs who beat teams with their accurate shooting and good post play. They’re still in Cleveland, but the problem is the majority of them are playing terrible, and are struggling to keep the 7th seed of the playoffs. Now down to a .500 record the Cavs have to regain respect, but the way they’re utilizing certain players isn’t going to cut it. The Cavs season started as surprising success and it’s ending in a plummeting wreck.

Boozer and Pelinka – Saving the NBA

As sick as this sounds, Rob Pelinka may have just saved the league thanks to his questionable ethics.  We are at a very dangerous time for the NBA.  The league is highly unstable right now.  Some of the biggest names in the league trying to force their way onto other teams by complaining publicly through the media.  An endless barrage of potential mega-block buster trades loom that will redistribute talent in a spattering of directions that will leave everyone confused.  The break up of the Lakers and success of the Pistons is creating seismic waves that has teams re-evaluating their philosophies and scrambling for a piece of the Laker yard sale.  Teams are awarding indefensibly horrendous contracts to mediocre players as the unsigned superstars sit back and laugh as their potential dollar amount sky rockets by the day.  Along came Rob Pelinka, whose indiscretions are going to create tension between teams and agents that should at least slow down the out-of-control signings.
