The Lions started their rebuilding process by firing head coach Steve Mariucci and naming Dick Jauron their interim head coach.
For those of you who remember, Jauron was the head coach of the Chicago Bears before Lovie Smith took over at the beginning of the 2004 season.

Not much change in the Top 10 as teams ranked higher last week came out with victories. How can we drop Pittsburgh much for losing to the best team in the league? Furthermore, while Dallas and NY Giants should have won their games, the point is that they didn’t. Meanwhile, San Diego managed to pull their game out and move up in the standings. It’s unbelievable that a team this good might miss the playoffs. Those of you who enjoy painful football can check out the bottom of the rankings for your fix. Without further ado, here are your week 12 Power Rankings.

I feel sorry for my family. I really do. They have to put up with not one, but two screaming Giants fans every week. Part of that is because the Giants have had heart wrenching games the past few weeks, either going into overtime, or a late game drive by Eli. However, this game against the Seahawks was crucial, and even though we lost, don’t count this team out just yet.
Hollywood couldn’t have written a better script. A young boy named Samkon Gado moves to the U.S. from Nigeria. He has aspirations of becoming a missionary doctor. Millions of other American children have dreams of making it to the NFL. This amazing story recounts Samkon’s life and how his dream will have to wait to live the American dream.
According to Tokar’s spreadsheet I’m only doing worse than one of the experts, so I figured I’d help all you gamblers out and post my picks this week.
Update: So much for the credibility of Newsday. The arbitrator ruled that TO’s suspension was fair and that the Eagles have a right to deactivate him. I wish he had used the word “Keyshawn”.

Newsday is reporting that the Eagles will release Owens. This report is highly suspicious and seems to be complete conjecture.
Ahhh Thanksgiving. Perhaps the best holiday in all of history. Whoever thought of the Thanksgiving day football game was a genius. This year’s games are the best in recent history. Division leaders in Dallas and Denver going head to head? Perfect. And with a suddenly struggling Atlanta team visiting Detroit, we have a potential upset brewing. This whole season has been one camel hump in a roller coaster after another. The Giants are no exception to this, as they have been up for most of the time, but have been down as well. But they are still very much in contention
A bit of a shakeup near the top as some fraudulent teams (Cincy, Carolina, Atlanta) fall in the rankings. And we finally listened to the Chicago fans and put the the Bears in the top 10.
