As of late, my life includes little suspense. The next silicone blonde to get the axe on the bachelor or the vegetables rotting at the bottom of my fridge haven’t exactly kept my nights restless.

Why I know that the Yankees will win the AL pennant. (written 2 weeks ago, forgot to post)
Season in review: Chicago Cubs
On paper, this club looked untouchable. They had the best starting five in all of baseball, and had great power hitters to put runs on the scoreboard. Defensively, this team looked solid, and their manager, Dusty Baker, was one of the best in the game. The Cubs made all the right off-season moves acquiring a great defensive first baseman and solid hitter, Derek Lee (also a World Champion), and Todd Walker from the Red Sox. Too bad games aren’t played on paper–the Cubs would’ve won a long time ago.
A Powerful Athlete Now Gone
Monday morning, 2am, the news comes through over ESPNews that Ken Caminiti, a former NL MVP has passed away at the age of 41. Shocking news before even more shocking news that Christopher Reeves has also passed on. Two great people not living on this earth anymore. It’s a shame that when you think of a man like Caminiti, 6 feet tall, 200 lbs, that you see this powerful athlete in tip top condition only to have his life taken away by a heart attack.
Seventeen years ago I fell in love for the first time. No, not with a girl, I was only in third grade, we hated the girls. The year was 1987 and I fell in love with the game of baseball and more specifically, the St. Louis Cardinals.
Pedro finds a father on the field
Who is Pedro Martinez’s daddy? Aside from who will be the next president, that was the question on the tip of everybody’s tongue last week after the Boston ace muttered to reporters, “What can I say? I tip my cap and call the Yankees my daddy.”
Fans’ Guide to Playoff Insanity
By Ryan McGowan
A little over a week ago, I was in Ann Arbor, visiting this guy Bill, one of Jennifer’s friends from New Hampshire who is a doctoral student at the University of Michigan. Bill wanted to take us to the Big House to see a Michigan-Iowa game, and since my appreciation of big-time college football had previously been limited to a few NC State games and such Division 1-AA epic wars as Hofstra vs. Northeastern, I was salivating at the chance to experience a real college game, amid 111,000 spectators at a packed-to-the-gills Michigan Stadium.
Bandwagon hopping to its fullest
Is there a better team in the MLB right now then the Anaheim Angels? Someone please tell me if there is because right now, the Angels are playing like the team they should’ve been all season long. Let it be clearly documented that I selected the Anaheim Angels to reach and win the World Series. I have written it down in many of my articles, and have been speaking about the subject boisterously since the beginning of the season. Now I don’t mean to sound arrogant, but I’m living this moment up to the fullest. Shower me with love, for I, at age 14 and barley through puberty, am truly a sports genius.
Greg Maddux: A model of consistency
Greg Maddux is about to do something no other pitcher has done…again! Maddux earned his 300th victory against the Giants on August 7th, but his next win will be his biggest milestone of the season.
No- Seriously. This is the Year.
I know, I know. You’ve heard it a thousand times before. Those obnoxious Red Sox fans never learn, do they? No, we don’t. But seriously though. This is the year. I mean it.
