Week 10 NFL Power Rankings

Wooo Boy! What a week in the NFL. There were a lot of hard decision to be made in this week’s power rankings — how good is Atlanta? Is Green Bay the third best team in the NFC? Can you make a case for New England as still the top team in the AFC? I’m hoping this week’s games start separating the wheat from the chaff.

Rank (Pv) Team Record Comment
(2) 8-1 No let up after two big games but does this team have a Super Bowl in them?
(2) 8-1 Still the team to beat in the AFC. Pittsburgh’s got all the momentum but New England’s experience comes through in playoffs.
(3) 8-1 What’s the big deal about TO’s intro skit? Dennis Franz’s naked ass on NYPD Blue is ok but an implied naked Nicollete Sheridan is risque? FCC, please.
(4) 6-3 A huge blowout win solidifies Indy as a dangerous team come playoff time. I’m looking for NE-Indy in the AFC Championship game.
(8) 7-2 Week 10 and they almost have the division sewn up. They should cakewalk into the playoffs.
(6) 6-3 If it comes down to Denver vs Marty for the division title, history tells us that the Chargers have no chance.
(7) 6-3 Everybody who thought this team would contend this year, please raise your hand.
(10) 6-3 Strong win in the Meadowlands means they feel much better about their wildcard chances. I don’t think this team has what it takes (ahem…Boller) to win their division.
(5) 6-3 I know I said Quincy Carter stinks but what happened last week is on Herm Edwards and his game management.
(15) 5-4 Gift call from the refs but GB completes their rise from the ashes to the top of the North.
(9) 5-4 Slip sliding away, slip sliding away / You know the nearer the playoffs / The more you’re slip sliding away.
(12) 6-3 Look, I’m sorry. I know they have a better record than GB and Minny but I’m just not convinced.
(16) 5-4 How does a team that got beat by Miami (the absolute worst team in the league) end up at the top of the NFC West?
(11) 5-4 Remember after the third game of the year, everyone was saying how great the Seattle Defense was? Yeah, I was wrong too.
(25) 4-5 The Bears at one point were at the bottom of the rankings. Now, they have an outside shot of making the playoffs.
(26) 4-5 The question is whether we’ve ranked Chicago and Arizona too high for beating the Giants. I guess the real question is whether the Giants fast start was a fluke.
(13) 5-4 On any given Sunday… the Giants can stink up the joint. Matter of days before the grumbling about Coughlin starts up again.
(18) 4-5 Winning two in a row is nice. But everyone beats the Daniel Snyders.
(14) 4-5 After a promising mid point, they manage to drop two in a row to very good teams. They’re not ready to play with the big boys.
(28) 4-5 There’s so much talent on this team and they can’t piece together any kind of win streak.
(17) 4-5 (whisper) “bust”. (whisper) “bust”. (stage whisper) “bust”. Guess who they’re talking about.
(19) 3-6 Are we going to have this Kelly Holcombe debate again? I thought Browns figured out last year that he wasn’t the answer.
(20) 3-6 I know it’s overused but this was a must win game to have any shot at the division and they didn’t get it done.
(21) 3-6 Drew Bledsoe deserves better. They’re going to replace him with Losman in the next 5 minutes.
(22) 3-6 Maybe going around in circles was where Gibbs’ heart really was. We’ll give him more time but it looks like another Daniel Snyder hiring special.
(23) 3-6 You think maybe addressing the defense in the offseason might be a good idea?
(27) 3-6 What happened to the thinking of “Gannon going down was a blessing in disguise”?
(27) 3-6 You get the feeling that Parcells is just going to give up one of these days? He’s very close to pulling a Dick Vermeil in his post game press conferences.
(29) 3-6 Talk about not living up to expectations. I’d be suicidal as a Titans fan right now.
(30) 2-7 “At least we’re not the Niners!”
(31) 1-8 I was listening to the SF post game show and the commentator said Tim Rattay is a very good QB. What game did he watch?
(32) 1-8 I love all the speculation about the next coach. Why would Spurrier want to jump onto this sinking ship? Wasn’t the Washington experience humbling enough?
