We’re at the quarter pole of the season and there are still a ton of questions surrounding most teams. Chances are that the 0-3 teams are just playing out the string (odds against them making the playoffs are astronomical), we have to wonder which 3-0 teams are for real and which ones are just lucky recipients of an easy early schedule. This week is the beginning of bye weeks in the NFL so we have 14 games to examine. The featured games this week are Ravens @ Patriots, Jets @ Saints, Cowboys @ Broncos, and Packers @ Vikings.

Locks of the Week
Vegas Vinny: (2-1, Balance =$900) Detroit is coming off a major victory over the Redskins and has all the momentum going into this game. They’re coming off a two touchdown performance last week. That’s more than 1. The Tigers haven’t choked away the division (as of this printing) and the good times are starting to roll in the motor city. Look for the Lions to come out all fired up for this game looking to take it to their hated rivals, the Bears, in the windy city.
Chicago? A bunch of losers. The Bulls couldn’t close out the Celtics despite outplaying them all series. The Cubs failed again. They were even the first city eliminated from consideration for the Olympics. Pathetic.
Wait… sorry, I was watching Behind the Music with Brett Michaels and got a contact high (comes with free order of shame). I’ll put $55 to win $50 on the Bears (-10). In fact, Jay Cutler is playing so well, I’ll pick em to win by 30.
BostonMac: (2-1, Balance = $1,095) You know, I have no real reason for picking this Lock of the Week except for (A) I chickened out on picking Green Bay to beat the Vikings, and (B) I would bet a kidney against the St. Louis Rams right now. Especially with the 49ers playing well, and at home. I’ll put $55 to win $50 on SAN FRANCISCO (-10).
RJ: (1-2, Balance = $940) Last year, the Titans went into Jacksonville and won 24-14 to run their record to 10-0. Since then, they have gone 3-7, including playoffs. Fortunately for them, the Jags have been worse, going 2-7; and they have not won back-to-back games in a year. Outside of St. Louis, Jacksonville Municipal Stadium (how imaginative) might be the most depressing place to watch a professional football game. Their 1-8 record there ATS proves it. Besides, Tennesee (-3)is just better than Jacksonville. 55/50 and let the L.A. talk heat up.
