It shouldn’t be that easy. A leap over the top of a flat outfield fence is not meant to look like poetry in motion. Home run swings aren’t supposed to have a natural rhythm. Speed should not have equality with instincts. One is supposed to cover for the other. No one is supposed to be perfect. But yet, the images of a player who was more like a masterpiece still flow through the minds of Baseball fans everywhere.
Three Times A Charm
Is it just me, or did Roy Williams look like a totally different person by finally getting the enormous monkey off of his back. By winning Monday night and claiming his first national title, Williams has now forced all of the sports media to change their personas toward the man. With his most recent accomplishment, Williams is viewed obviously in many people’s minds differently than he was before his victory against Illinois in the national championship game. Now, it is up to people and fans of college basketball to place Roy Williams where they believe he best belongs in the history of college basketball.
A new Tiger reminds us he still wins
By Sean Quinn
We can’t fathom what it is like to be Tiger Woods. We can grasp what talent it takes and what ability it takes to be the greatest golfer in history, but we can’t fully understand what it is like to be that mentally focused.
We can’t comprehend his mentality that always strives for perfection. The mentality that tears down a golf swing that propelled him to 200-plus straight weeks as the number one ranked golfer in the world, and builds it up again as if it were a TLC remodeling project. We haven’t seen any athlete who has the mental capacity of Woods and we probably never will.
"Fever Pitch" Sucks
By Ryan McGowan
I tried. I really tried to give “Fever Pitch” a fair shake. I tried really hard not to walk into the movie theater with my mind already made up. I rationalized to myself, “It’s about the Red Sox.” “There’s all these great shots of Boston and Fenway and the Sox players.” “It’s made by the Farrelly Brothers; how could they possibly screw it up?” It didn’t matter. At the risk of sounding too blunt, “Fever Pitch” sucks.
Bonds Walks Again
Barry Bonds is more juiced than a freshly squeezed glass of Tropicana.
Here we go again….
One week into a season, it’s a little unusual to see two teams with sub-par records hate each other so intensely. Unless, of course, you’re the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees.
Lately there’s been a lot of talk about changing the age limit to enter the NBA. The idea is to move the age limit from 18 to 20 years of age, and the reason for all this arguing is Jermaine O’Neal’s comments. Jermaine says it’s racist, when it’s really about business.
Karl for Coach of the Year
You either like him or have complete disdain for him. Like him or not, shouldn’t Denver Nuggets coach George Karl be Coach of the Year?
BOSTON (April 14) – After being routed by their sworn enemy the Yankees, Boston declared April 13 as the date for the collective recognition that both the Red Sox franchise and their fans are, in fact, idiots.
JaxDeuce’s 2005 NFL Mock Draft
My first Sportcolumn article has to be a Mock NFL Draft. This is the most hyped, non-game, event in all of sports. To me to it like the little brother of super bowl Sunday. NFL draft weekend, something you plan your whole week for. I mean is it surprising that on this page there are 2 other recently written Draft Previews? And look at what topics are getting all the comments. Well here is my little list. It is based on team needs, rumors, and whom I think they should take. I think I factored in all these evenly.
