What is this world coming to? Would you actually believe it if someone told you that a number one lottery pick in the 2006 NBA Draft is not considering the money, but an education? Well, so far, that is what Greg Oden is considering, for now, yet this almost sounds too good to be true. Who knows, maybe there are people in the world actually like this?

Now that the NCAA Basketball Tournament has ended, this means that it is time for die-hard collegiate sports fans to sway their attention toward another sport. That sport would be, of course, football-for any of you whom haven’t caught on to the sports drift. With only the college football season ending last January, it is never too early to start asking questions about the next upcoming season. The one question all fans will have this year, is of course, who’s the BCS going to get this year?
Three Times A Charm
Is it just me, or did Roy Williams look like a totally different person by finally getting the enormous monkey off of his back. By winning Monday night and claiming his first national title, Williams has now forced all of the sports media to change their personas toward the man. With his most recent accomplishment, Williams is viewed obviously in many people’s minds differently than he was before his victory against Illinois in the national championship game. Now, it is up to people and fans of college basketball to place Roy Williams where they believe he best belongs in the history of college basketball.
An Old Clich
When someone gets what he or she wants, they are usually satisfied. In the case of Kobe Bryant, this theory may not be so true. People for three things best know Bryant. He was first known for being Shaq’s sidekick for seven years, and producing three championships. Second, people who aren’t avid basketball fans know him for his incident in the infamous Colorado hotel room. Lastly, people know Kobe Bryant for his decision to run two of the biggest names in the history of basketball out of Los Angeles. All of things Kobe have brought on himself, and two of these Kobe probably wishes he could take back.
Turning a Positive into a Negative
It seemed so sweet at the time. Both Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa were on their “Magical Mystery Homerun Tour” each doing their best to revive America’s pastime from the dead. Revive is what they did, but no one knew how. Yet, some might have a clue today as to how they went about their business back in that magical summer of ’98. The game of baseball had seemed so innocent at the time. Everyone had been aware of McGwire power ability, and Sosa’s lovability. People were even aware of McGwire taking androstenedione – which at the time was not on the banned substances list for Major League Baseball. Yet, people had no clue what might have been in the lovable Sammy Sosa’s bat. Fans weren’t aware of baseball’s drug all of the players were all seemingly using, and they sure as hell weren’t aware of baseball players’ secret hangout place called BALCO.
