NHL Power Rankings for November 6 2006

It’s that time of the week again, no, not the beer pong league night. It’s time for the NHL power rankings. The Avalanche, Red Wings and Maple Leafs all made some major noise this week, while the Devils are dropping faster then Clemson out of the AP poll.

Note to Clemson, you guys might want to think about changing your play calling. On that note, where does your favorate team rank?

1 (3) 11-2-0
It seems as though “L’enfant terrible” and Mikey Mo can play together.
2 (1) 11-1-1
They lead the NHL in goals, but it’s their two-headed goaltending monster that’s winning them games.
3 (2) 10-0-4 They have the most overtime losses in the league, which is the reason why they lead Dallas by 2 points.
4 (4) 10-3-0
Brian Rolston is getting the job done for the Wild, who’s letting their defense win games. However, the Avs are hot on their heels.
5 (5) 10-3-3
Marian Hossa leads a potent offense, while the defense isn’t that bad either.
6 (6) 10-5-0
Joe Thorton is leading the league’s top power play.
7 (12) 9-4-1
Write it down right now, Nicklas Lidstrom will win another Norris trophy.
8 (10) 9-3-1
Even though the Wings have caught them, the Preds are still a great team. Steve Sullivan leads a top 10 offense.
9 (16) 8-5-3
Anyone know who leads the third ranked offense in the NHL? Give up? Darcy Tucker. So much for him being a goon.
10 (9) 7-4-0
Crosby and Evgeni Malkin leads the third ranked power play.
11 (14) 7-5-2
Jordan Leopold has yet to play a game for the Avs. Just immagine how sick their defense is going to be when he suits up.
12 (1) 7-3-3
Christopher Higgins is one of the league’s promising top young players, and he leads the fourth ranked power play in the NHL.
13 (7) 5-2-3
Sorry Canucks fans, Peter Forsberg is not comming to help you.
14 (8) 7-6-0
Petr Sykora is about the only Oiler that seems to be able to find the net.
15 (17) 7-6-2
Please don’t sue me for this John Cena, but…THE CHAMP IS HERE! The Canes have figured out that they are the defending cup champions. Eric Staal leads the fifth ranked offense, but did you know they are fourth in their own division on offense? I’d hate to be a goalie in the southeast..
16 (11) 5-5-0
Their problem is scoring, beacuse they have a top five defense.
17 (19) 7-6-0
Jaromir Jagr leads a high octane offense.
18 (18) 5-6-0
They have the second best penalty kill in the league, the only problem with Tampa is the fact most of the game is played five-on-five.
19 (21) 5-4-4
Washington needs some massive defensive help. If they can get a solid number one defenseman, then they could win this division.
20 (22) 5-6-2
Would you belive they have a top ten power play and penalty kill? Oh, and that they’re just one point away from a divison lead? Maybe Garth Snow does know what he’s doing, or maybe it’s just November.
21 (20) 6-7-2
Bertuzzi’s out for six to eight weeks, watch this team drop even farther.
22 (15) 6-4-1
I warned you, New Jersey, beware the Penguin…and the Ranger…and the Islander.
23 (24) 4-7-2
The Flames are a huge mess. Maybe the trade for Tanguay wasn’t the smartest idea in the world.
24 (25) 4-6-3
Manny Legace is rebounding from a slow start, but this club is still in trouble.
25 (26) 4-9-3
Blake looks old, this team just looks overpaied and undercoached. In other words, it’s a typical Marc Crawford team.
26 (28) 4-5-2
Boston seems to be the brunt of all the trade rumors, and why not? Tim Thomas just isn’t getting the job done.
27 (27) 4-7-1
The Jackets just have no depth past Nash, Zerdev, Foote, and Fedorov.
28 (23) 4-9-0
Face it, the ‘Hawks are doomed to the bottom of the NHL until Bill Writz gives up the team. Nothing they do is right.
29 (29) 4-10-0
The Great One just isn’t so great at general managing or coaching. Face it, Wayne, you’re like a computer tech trying to explain a computer to airheads, they aren’t going to get it.
30 (30) 3-9-1
Forsberg is frustrated, but at least he shows emotion.
