Ahhh Thanksgiving. Perhaps the best holiday in all of history. Whoever thought of the Thanksgiving day football game was a genius. This year’s games are the best in recent history. Division leaders in Dallas and Denver going head to head? Perfect. And with a suddenly struggling Atlanta team visiting Detroit, we have a potential upset brewing. Here we go with the Week 12 NFL Picks. Happy turkey days, folks!

Locks of the Week
Vegas Vinny: I’ve been getting burned by giving too many points. No longer. I am convinced that the San Diego Chargers are miles better than the Washington Redskins, even if it’s being played in Washington. The combination of Brees and LT are enough to put the Chargers over the top and if the Chargers get Antonio Gates back in the mix, it could be a long day for the Redskins, just like it was for the Buffalo Bills. In a shootout, the Redskins won’t be able to outgun the Chargers. If it’s a tight game, expect LT to grind it out and show Clinton Portis just what the best back in the league looks like. Chargers -3.
Teri Berg: Carolina’s getting four and a half against the Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium — after Chicago dismantled the Panthers 22-0? Buffalo has lost only one of its five home games this season (vs. Atlanta), and Carolina isn’t the team it was being hyped as last week. The Panthers’ 7-3 record is mostly a reflection of their fluke win over the Pats in Week 2 and the Easy Street they’ve been on since — until meeting the Bears, anyway. The Bills’ secondary is still strong (No. 6 in the league), and will be able to contain Carolina’s only offensive outlet: Delhomme to Smith. On the defensive side, Carolina has the #4 rush D, but what run teams have they played? Only the halfassed Fish in Week 3. (Versus TB, the Panthers didn’t have to fight off Carnell Williams, who was still injured.) Willis McGahee will have a better game against the Panthers than anyone has all season. Now, if only Losman can be counted on to minimize mistakes, and Mike Mularkey can trust his team on offense instead of punting their chances away. What the heck — I’m taking Buffalo (-4).
BostonMac: reminded everyone last week that the Redskins were frauds, as they dropped one at home to the mediocre-at-best Oakland Raiders. I am going to stay on the Skins’ reverse-bandwagon this week against the visiting San Diego Chargers. Great stat pointed out by Gregg Easterbrook (TMQ on NFL.com) that the Redskins have dropped their last nine games vs. AFC teams. Nine in a row! I don’t even think Valley High ever had that many consecutive defeats vs. Bayside on “Saved by the Bell.” Look for the Chargers to make it ten in a row for the AFC vs the Skins, as LT runs all over a demoralized Washington defense and Drew Brees throws bullets through their weak secondary. The Skins are going to be battling it out with the Eagles for the NFC East cellar, while the Chargers are fighting to grab that AFC wild card (and to make some noise in the playoffs, where they could conceivably make the Super Bowl with a little luck, assuming their head coach switches bodies and minds with Bill Belichick). I am going to lay the points with SAN DIEGO (-3) over the Redskins.
Trevor F: I’m taking the Giants getting 5 1/2 against Seattle. The Seattle Seahawks
are the biggest fraud since two guys once called themselves “Milli
Vanilli”. The 49ers came thisclose to beating Seattle last week whereas
the Giants pounded the 49ers. That’s because the Giants are a real
contender in the NFC whereas Seattle is a contender to choke in the first
round of the playoffs. Not to worry, Seattle fans. Tiki Bob’s is one of
the easiest places in America to pick up a girl between the ages of 21 and
25. The Last Supper Club is also a target rich environment. You got
plenty of options to soften the blow. Giants (+5.5).

Packers looking better… Anyone wanna change their pick for the GB at Philly game? Who knew Tra Thomas would be placed on the IR for the remainder of the season? And the Igges might be without two other O-linemen, not to mention CB Lito Sheppard — vs. Favre’s passing. Oh, boy!
