NBA In Full Swing
With AI settling into his new home, Webber looking for his next destination, and the current 76ers struggling mightily, it is safe to say the rebuilding process has begun in Philadelphia. Out west, the Mavericks and Suns are seperating themselves from the rest of the pack. In Denver, well, let’s just say I can’t wait to see what happens next.
“The two sides are, on the one hand, the old scouts and, on the other, Billy Beane. The old scouts are like a Greek chorus, it is their job to underscore the eternal themes of baseball. The eternal themes are precisely what Billy Beane wants to exploit for profit – by ignoring them.”

NBA Power Rankings for Dec 21 2006
After a week break, the NBA Power Rankings are back with a brawl and a blockbuster. It was an interesting week for the Nuggets, who came out anything but Golden. However, through all the blundering of two weeks, the Knicks cannot be denied their post.
David Stern’s word dilemma
Apparently, I’m the only one who notices the hypocrisy that has enveloped David Stern in his old age.
Now, I admit that I haven’t watched more than two quarters of any NBA regular season game since the lockout and I admit that before Hurricane Katrina, I thought the Hornets were still in Charlotte, so I’m probably missing something, but how does Stern get off forcing his employees to wear suits to the games but refer to them as players when they complain about the game ball? I think that’s hypocrisy.
Two teams are surging through their conferences, and they have also surged to the top of my NBA Power Rankings, as the West is tight, and the East is pathetic.
The NBA is in the final stages of warming up for the proving ground stages of the season. Some teams are out to prove they are for real, while other upstarts will fade back into mediocrity.
With a week of road trips, the West certainly solidified itself as the better conference, thrashing Eastern teams wherever the games were played.
Several upstart teams have taken nosedives while the West has several teams in for showdowns to determine the cream of the crop.
NBA Power Rankings for November 6th
Just one week into the season, the NBA is full of surprises both good and bad. Some teams are making their run at glory, while there are playoff teams from last season searching for a win.
