Here we go again….

One week into a season, it’s a little unusual to see two teams with sub-par records hate each other so intensely. Unless, of course, you’re the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees.

Boston Fans Subscribe to Own Idiocy

BOSTON (April 14) – After being routed by their sworn enemy the Yankees, Boston declared April 13 as the date for the collective recognition that both the Red Sox franchise and their fans are, in fact, idiots.

The Posturing of Curt Schilling

Alex Rodriguez’s decision to endorse the Red Sox’ castigation of his character last week had the desired effect of quieting a Boston team that apparently thought the Yankee third basemen was susceptible to high school baiting tactics. Baseball, for now, appears to be the focus in the New York and Boston camps. The important business of spring training marches forward as both teams try to turn question marks into exclamation points before the season opener.

Quiet time never lasts, though, when Curt Schilling is around.

From the End Spring New Beginnings

Watching and reliving the broadcast of “World Series Winter” on NESN the past few weeks, all the emotion of last season’s playoffs came screaming back from what seemed like only a month in hibernation. But as the Red Sox players, coaches, and the following horde of media flock to the Gulf Coast of Florida, the cycle begins again.

Review of "Faith Rewarded"

“One of the greatest comebacks you’ll ever see” You might think this quote is referring to the historic 2004 ALCS comeback by the Boston Red Sox, well in the NESN Faith Rewarded DVD this little quote is from Charlie Steiner the Yankees color man referring to that blackest of games in 2003. That’s right; the NESN DVD starts us off with the Aaron effin Boone homer and how Grady Little went to the mound in the 8th and forgot to bring a certain someone with him back to the dugout. Faith Rewarded does a great job of doing just that, taking us from the lowest of the low and then rewarding us with the highest of the high.

Red Sox 2005 Preview

Ahhh; 2004. I have a feeling sox fans will be clinging to that number for quite awhile. I’m not saying Boston will not win another championship for a long time, I’m simply putting it out there that many fans still have not come to grips with what the hell happened that magical October in 2004, and just how amazing it was. For me it hit me when I picked up the “Faith Rewarded” DVD and just sat back with a few beers. I had this smirk on my face the whole way through, you know like the one George Bush uses right after he say’s something completely serious but then throws that inappropriate smirk at you.

Rewriting History

By Ryan McGowan

Some day, maybe in 2034, some disgruntled, fan-beaten manager of the Boston Red Sox will issue a harsh rant to the assembled throng of media members in the clubhouse:

“All the negativity in this town sucks.  It sucks, and it stinks, and it sucks.  Doug Mientkiewicz isn’t walking through that door, friends.  Dave Roberts isn’t walking through that door, and Pokey Reese is not walking through that door.  And if they did, they’d be old and gray.”

86 Years Later…

It ended on October 27, 2004. It ended on a night where there was a lunar eclipse. It ended 18 years after possibly the 2nd largest choke in MLB history (yes, Yankees fans, the 2004 Yanks are still number one). Yes, the Curse ended. The Boston Red Sox are World Series Champions.
