Now that the NCAA Basketball Tournament has ended, this means that it is time for die-hard collegiate sports fans to sway their attention toward another sport. That sport would be, of course, football-for any of you whom haven’t caught on to the sports drift. With only the college football season ending last January, it is never too early to start asking questions about the next upcoming season. The one question all fans will have this year, is of course, who’s the BCS going to get this year?

Before I get started………yes I know I am the same guy who penned “25 Reasons why the NCAA trumps the NBA”. However I am a basketball fan. I think basketball is the finest sport on the planet and I believe this year’s NBA season has been the best one in the past five years. That is why I am writing this piece, as I would like to encourage all of you to watch the NBA playoffs. “40 games in 40 nights” has already gotten off to a great start and should only get better. Here are ten storylines/reasons why you should be watching the NBA Playoffs in reverse order.
Chicago…
Chicago. The second city. The second largest and third most populated city in this great country of ours. We have four major sports teams; the Bears, Bulls, White Sox and Cubs. These four teams get no credit and no respect from the national medias.
Here in Chicago we have the most passionate fans on Earth and four losing teams. In my estimation I live in the greatest sports city in the world and I am tired of the national sports networks not giving my teams any props.
Funny what you find out….
I was having a shower one night and something hit me: if I love the sports world, then I should have take a valid interest in what’s happening behind the scenes, instead of in front of it.
And after doing some research, here’s what I found out:
Webster’s defines the word “shot” as…
The smell of peanuts and Cracker-Jack, the roar of the crowd, the crack of the bat, and the smell of the grass. Attention all of you in the District of Columbia area; these images are for you. But for how long?
As an NBA sportswriter, I already know everything there is to know about hoops. In order build my ego up even more, I decided to go look at some of my predictions about the league in my NBA preview. As stated above, I am always right about basketball, making some of these preseason observations a little odd. Hey, some of them were spot on. But others…yuck!
Bet on Denver’s newest Bronco
By Sean Quinn
Usually, when 100 players get drafted before you, the media doesn’t pay that much attention to you. Usually, though, the 101st pick in the NFL Draft doesn’t have as much talent as Maurice Clarett.
The story from this year’s draft won’t be how much of a gamble the Denver Broncos took on Clarett, but what a steal they got with the final pick of the first round.

Here are the power rankings for a fairly uneventful third week in the MLB. Any thoughts are always welcome.
Depths of a Season – Matt Waters
” The river has many depths…. Let it wash over you.”
An insightful tagline from a great movie [Mystic River] actually holds some credence for baseball fans nation wide. For if you substitute the word “season” in place of river in this particular quote, one gets a perfect summation for what is the grind of a 162 game marathon. Baseball needs to be watched as it is played, with a cool head and balanced intensity. In other more precise words, baseball can’t be viewed in a football frame of mind. After one game in the NFL season, a fan could get a decent idea about where his team is heading. After one game in the Major League epic, a fan could get a decent idea about well…. Absolutely nothing.
