Steve Nash = Worst NBA MVP of all Time

You thought you’d seen it all in sports…I mean just this past weekend a 50-1 horse won the Kentucky Derby and was followed by a 70-1 for a heck of a trifecta and superfecta payout (No one won at an alarming payout of $1.7 million but I digress)…

Nash’s Bridges

Steve Nash is point guard for the #1 seed Phoenix Suns, the best team in the NBA. Steve Nash led the NBA in assists for the team that led the league in scoring. Steve Nash is the 2004-2005 NBA MVP. Steve Nash is white.

See any connection?

Unless you’re Miami Herald columnist Dan LeBetard, you probably wouldn’t. At least I would hope not.

Looking ahead to the 2006 NFL Draft…

With the 2005 NFL Draft only a couple weeks old, it is time to start looking ahead to the 2006 NFL Draft, by the way it is only less than a year away.

Brownies- how could you screw up again?

Well once again the Browns have found a way to get screwed over for this season. Me, being a big Browns fan was ecstatic for the new season. We brought in playmakers like Gary Baxter and Rueben Droughns. I love the way Romeo Crennel is molding the team in his image. Everything was looking up for the Browns, until a few days ago. I didn’t think we could’ve messed up another draft after five years of terrible picks. Yet Kellen Winslow has proven me wrong, once again.

One Man’s Trip to the Ballpark

by Trevor Freeman

There are two types of brave.  The first type is courageous.  Fighting in war, defying a series of odds, saving a life.  The second type is the “stupid” kind.  Examples would be jumping off the roof into your swimming pool or trying to swipe the bell off the top of Taco Bell.  Wearing an opposing team’s hat into Yankee Stadium definitely constitutes the second type of brave.

Citizen Wade

If you had told me that five weeks into the season the Philadelphia Phillies would have a better record than the New York Yankees, I would have recommended you seek psychiatric help.  If your prediction had come true, I’d be telling everyone who’d listen (and even those that wouldn’t) about how the perennially underachieving Phillies were finally going to meet their lofty expectations.

Somehow, the Phillies do have a better record than the Yankees…yet I remain silent.

Never 4 Get – Matt Waters

sub·lime-  verb
to elevate or exalt especially in dignity or honor (2) : to render finer (as in purity or excellence) b : to convert (something inferior) into something of higher worth

As the dogs days of August began to grudgingly give way to the promise of September, nary a thought of foreign politics or agendas swirled through my mind as I happily clutched the tickets to Cal Ripken’s final home game at Camden Yards. In just a few weeks, I’d be sitting in the beautiful ballpark right off the Maryland Board Walk giving my appreciation to Baseball history. I counted down the days as they dropped off the calendar with routine ease. September 9… September 10…

MAY DAY

The Yankees are a mess.

This news, of course, is about as breaking as Britney’s bun in the oven. But what IS stop-the-presses noteworthy is that the fans- who have thusfar been desperately clinging to a battle cry of “The season’s young!”- are beginning to slowly and listlessly accept this immobilizing truth. That our team, our revered immortal pinstripes, the apple of the eye of the Big Apple, the essence of my being and the blood running through my veins…is a mess.

Going quietly into the offseason

Game 7 sure lived up to all the hype, huh?

Another Celtics’ season is officially in the books and an uncertain offseason has now begun, after the Green mailed in a 97-70 loss to the Indiana Pacers in the deciding game of their opening round playoff series.  Danny Ainge may have assembled a talented mix of youngsters and veterans, but after watching that debacle, he and anyone rooting for this team (and quite frankly, anyone covering this team, as well) should be embarrassed.

The sun shines bright in the old Kentucky home…

It’s derby time, and here are some of my favorite’s in the run for the roses! No doubt I am a huge horse racing fan, and the Kentucky Derby is one of my favorite sporting events of the year.
