Breaking News: TO suspension upheld

Update: So much for the credibility of Newsday. The arbitrator ruled that TO’s suspension was fair and that the Eagles have a right to deactivate him. I wish he had used the word “Keyshawn”.

Original report:
Here in cold, cold Philadelphia, we are hearing that TO’s four game suspension will be reduced by the arbitrator. More to come.

Newsday is reporting that the Eagles will release Owens. This report is highly suspicious and seems to be complete conjecture.

Race Isn’t The Issue?

When asked about having a school dress code, one may cringe at the issue.  Teens and Adults in general, usually don’t like to be told what to and what not to wear.  Well, in the National Basketball Association, much controversy has been stirred up this year. The league has decided to generate a league-wide dress code for all the players.  While this may sound like a good thing, many people have taken notice that the dress code specifically targets African American players.

Roller Coaster

By Billy Fellin

This whole season has been one camel hump in a roller coaster after another. The Giants are no exception to this, as they have been up for most of the time, but have been down as well. But they are still very much in contention

NFL Power Rankings Week 11 – November 22 2005

A bit of a shakeup near the top as some fraudulent teams (Cincy, Carolina, Atlanta) fall in the rankings. And we finally listened to the Chicago fans and put the the Bears in the top 10.

Comments? Gripes? Suggestions? (Other than the suggestion the cabbie gave Luke Wilson in Old School.) All welcome. Here we go with the Week 11 NFL Power Rankings.

Power Fuels the Charge to Fire College Coaches

A very popular phrase recently is that with great power comes great responsibility.  No matter who accepts this statement, Georgia Tech Football Coach Chan Gailey and dozens of other coaches just like him are very glad that it has so much validity.

Even if you’re stupid you have to vote for Reggie Bush

By Sean Quinn

There’s only one way the BCS will get off the hook this year – if Reggie Bush doesn’t win the Heisman Trophy.

Fast forward 20, no 30 years from now. Suzanne Somers will cover the remaining five percent of her body in plastic, Freddy Adu will be one year away from reaching his potential and Flintstones Vitamins, not steroids, will be the latest drug used by MLB sluggers. More foolish, though, is the fact that the best college football player of most people’s lifetime didn’t win the Heisman Trophy. It’s just as foolish as Citizen Kane not winning the Oscar in 1941.

If Your Athletic Director Only Knew…

A 2-year old rap called “If that Ho only knew” created by some Miami
football players recently surfaced on the internet, much to the
chagrin of the Univesity of Miami Athletic Director.  The group
called themselves the 7th Floor Crew and recorded a rap that degraded
women and minorities. This rap isn’t your average explicit rap song,
this is an expletive-filled rap that lasts for 9 minutes. (See the
end of this article for the download) One of the biggest problems of
this ordeal is the fact that it has come from Miami, a school
struggling to recover from their image of out of control “student”-
athletes.  The release of this rap song certainly is another black
mark on their athletic program.
