Colts- media have to get back on the horse

By Sean Quinn

The San Diego Chargers, not the New England Patriots, not Tom Brady, not the apparent next Messiah Tedy Bruschi, handed the Indianapolis Colts their first loss of the season Sunday.  The Colts showed imperfections in their offense and severe blemishes in their secondary that would be difficult for Proactiv Solution to even attempt to clean up in time for the playoffs.  The Colts, though, are still the frontrunners for the Super Bowl title and should be afraid of the dark before they are frightened by the New England Patriots.

The Lukewarm Stove

    Manny Ramirez?  Still in Boston.

Johnny Damon?  Still a free agent, waiting for the right offer.

Nomar Garciaparra?  Agreed to a one-year deal in L.A., while Rafael Furcal signed the contract Nomar once appeared destined to receive.

Who goes #1?

Each April, most of us are guaranteed three things-Rain, taxes and Mel Kiper Jr. Yes folks, I’m talking about the NFL Draft. This season’s Heisman race has already sparked some debate about what may happen come April 29th, and I’m offering my opinion on who is taken with the first pick.

Kenji WHO?

A week ago the Seattle Mariners made their first big splash in the Free Agent Market, by signing Kenji Johjima to a 3-year deal for 16.5 million dollars. But will the Mariners risk in signing him end up flopping? Let’s take a closer look.

"Tiki Torch"

By Billy Fellin

Does anyone remember the old Wiley Coyote versus the Road Runner Looney Toons cartoon? How Wiley always had this ingenious plan to stop the Road Runner and 100% of the time, it backfired. Well, Saturday night the Road Runner was Tiki Barber and the Coyote was the Chiefs defense.

Rough Day for both Texas and Louisville

For most of college basketballs top 25 today was just another typical win over easy unranked teams. Too bad for Louisville coach Rick Pitino and Texas coach Rick Barnes this was a day they want to just forget.

Detroit Basketball: Institution of the Dynasty

The Detroit Pistons are off to the quickest start in team history, leaving the ignorant masses of ESPN in a state of perplexity and shock. Not stunned, however, are those who seriously contemplated the likelihood that the Pistons were merely one-hit wonders, not so much talented and efficient as in the right place at the right time to take advantage of the collapse of the Los Angeles Lakers. Detroit has been granted a breath of fresh air under the regime of new head coach Flip Saunders. His new flex offense and the heartwrenching completion of last year’s NBA Finals have rejuvenated the best starting five in basketball and renewed the pursuit of dynasty eminence.

Will the Colts be Dethroned?

Currently the Indianapolis Colts are 12-0 and are vying to be the first team to run the table since the 1972 Dolphins. On Sunday the Colts are set to square off a familiar foe in the division rival Jacksonville Jaguars.
