With the Miami Heat just one game away from their first ever trip to the NBA Finals, I felt compelled to give a shout out to the Boys of South Beach.
They have done a magnificent job of not only dismantling but also demoralizing the Piston team. As is evidenced by their play and domineer, the Pistons are unraveling.
Remember when Barry Bonds could hit — and that was all that mattered?
Even he forgot how he got there.
Pat Riley is winning again.
Not basketball games. Mind games.
He took our doubts in stride, stayed faithful to the offseason amendments that he had made to the Miami Heat and never once buckled under all the questions regarding his judgment.
He stayed quiet and, ultimately, made us look like fools.
Why do we care about Barry Bonds anymore? The media surrounding him has been more than overwhelming, but for what reason? There’s much greater things going on in baseball right now. Why is everyone so fascinated with this tainted Giant? Can’t we all just focus on the brighter things the MLB has to offer?
The Statement: It’s over!
The Question: Wait a second, what’s over? Was there anything even there, so we could actually say that it is truly over?
The Answer: No!

The NBA playoffs have been nothing short of spectacular this season. This year’s second round provided fans with dramatic finishes and some of the most poorly officiated games I’ve ever had the displeasure to watch. But I digress. The second round boasted four match ups that no one thought would turn out the way that they did.
Phil Mickelson had forty-two chances to win a Major, but even with all of the talent and potential in the world, he couldn’t put every aspect of his game together until his birdie on the eighteenth to win The Masters in 2004. At that moment, his mystique of being the ultimate underdog vanished that Sunday afternoon at Augusta and since then, Mickelson’s achievements have silenced his critics and captivated his fans through his sheer determination as someone who can not only keep up with Tiger, but beat him.
