As Bruce Sutter and his 13-year wait for the Hall of Fame just proved, it’s hard to make it in to the Hall. You could even be the all-time saves leader (like Lee Smith is) and not make it to Cooperstown. While some active pitchers will be having their busts carved out in the near future, the vast majority need more work. Which pitchers will make it to the Hall? Here’s my analysis.
G-I-A-N-T-S

As another season is on the horizon over the swamps of Jersey, the Giants are poised to make a run into the playoffs in arguably the toughest division in all of football.
Discourse on (lack of) Reason
It seems like it was just a year ago that Myles Brand, the man who not even own organization can spell his first name (search “Miles Brand” site:ncaa.org and you’ll get a nice laugh when you find the press release announcing his hiring), foolishly decided that the “Seminole” nickname was “abusive & hostile” to a group of people who supported it 100%.
Oh wait, it was.
But some things never change. Now the man who should be selling swiss cheese to monkeys has decided that two green and yellow feathers symbolize hostility and abuse towards Native Americans. Am I missing something?
The sun sprayed vibrant beams off Monty’s shades and he smiled, tapping the bat lightly against his cleats. He briefly surveyed his surroundings, knowing that this minor lapse in concentration was well worth the view. The crowd was monumental, swaying and weaving, a summer splashed collage, all sweat and vigor, humming with anticipation.
Walk Out Music
Two weeks ago my friend and I were at the Mets game. On the way into the stadium my friend looked at me and said, “I hope that either Julio Franco is starting or pinch hits at some point in the game.”
I looked at him with the same face Matt Leinart had when Tagliabue announced the Jets selected D’Brickashaw and said, “What?”
Team USA Player Reports
Last Thursday, Team USA dictated play on both ends of the court en route to a 114-69 blowout victory over Puerto Rico. Showing poise and passion, Team USA is off to a great start in reestablishing America as the king of basketball. Though I do not like to base performance on one game, here are my notes on each player’s performance that may prove critical when determining the final twelve.
Is passing Joe D possible?
Its been over 60 years and Joe DiMaggio’s hitting streak still stands. Will it ever be broken? Does it stand alone as sports’ ultimate record?

What A Putz
Even knowing as much as I do about baseball, there are still certain things I just don’t get.
One of them is why players wear sunglasses on top of their hats while in the field, and another is how the Oakland Athletics could possibly have let reliever Eric Plunk get away during the 1989 season, when they were destined to acquire hurler Joe Klink the following year.
Walking off with it
David Ortiz has been pitched around in recent years’ MVP voting, but now he is flat out winning games for his team, and is that not the definition for MVP?
