Penn State, at home, this year is too tough. Wow, did you think you’d hear those words this year? What a dream season this has been so far for the Nittany Lions of Penn State coached by none-other than Joe Paterno. Yes, Joe Paterno. The same guy who was being asked by the alumni of Penn State to step down after two National Championship, five undefeated seasons, and years and years of glory. But Paterno, who turns 79 in December, persevered and it looks like he may very well get the last laugh after all. Resurgence could be the word you use to describe this football team, as Joe has made some key recruits, his senior leadership led by quarterback Michael Robinson and company; the Lions continue to show us (the audience, press, etc.) that through pride, strength, and success with honor it’s never over for elite football programs such as Penn State.

The Heisman race is as close as ever. Many of the candidates are playing their hearts out and putting up big numbers. This could be one of the best Heisman races in recent history.

Team A: Record 8-0, Average Score 49.75-20.5 Best win: At number 15 team in the country.
Team B: Record 8-0, Average Score 46.63-16.13 Best win: at number 13 team in the country.
Team C: Record 8-0, Average Score 36.75-9.13 Best win: home against number 14 team in the country.

This is hardly what Dr. Daryl Gross had in mind in his first season as Syracuse’s athletic director. He probably expected the losses to the Virginia’s and Florida State’s of college football, but neither he nor anyone predicted the worst season in SU football history.

The race for the Heisman race is heating up. Many people are getting on bandwagons and watching closely at these players every move. This is when it really counts and Heisman candidates are really going to have to show their best to convince voters that they should be the ones hoisting the Heisman.

We forget to take out the trash.  We forget to pick up the in-laws from the airport.  We forget to bring home dinner.  These are all reasonable slip-ups, (to men anyhow).  Forgetting about USC’s 29-straight wins, though, is something that is not only unreasonable but stupid.

The BCS slipped up like it has for every week of its weak eight-year existence.  That was expected.  Hearing people agree with the latest ratings, in which Texas was ranked ahead of the two-time defending national champions, wasn’t expected.

Which conference is the best in the country?  Is the ACC #1 or does the honor of being best conference go to the Big Ten?  Avery Smith provides a unique insight as to how all of the BCS conferences rank, why Northwestern will pull off the upset on Saturday, and why Reggie McNeal is certainly not a "flop".  

It is very simple.  If you are a true college football fan, you don’t like something about the BCS.  Seemingly every year we have some controversy.  The time for all this GARBAGE to end is NOW!
