2012 NFL Week 7 Picks and Podcast

In the history of this podcast, we’ve never done as poorly as we did last week. The solution? Bring back the replacement refs! At least then we have an excuse for why we suck. For the first time all year, we have two hosts go head to head on the Locks of the Week. Since everyone seems to be getting their locks wrong, the game will end in a ATS tie — even at 10.5 points. Somehow this will happen.

This week, the featured games are Saints at Bucs, Ravens at Texans, and Redskins at Giants.

2012 NFL Week 6 Picks and Podcast

Last week was a great week straight up but disastrous against the spread. In fact, we’ve been pretty poor against the spread all season. If you took all our bets collectively, you’d be missing a finger or two by now. But, like every good gambler, we know that being above water is just around the corner.

This week features some great matchups: Cowboys at Ravens, Giants at Niners, and Packers at Texans. We’re particularly looking forward to whether Victor Cruz bitch slaps Carlos Rogers for disrespecting the memory of his meemaw. (Yeah, it’s gotten that personal.)

RJ is cruising around the Bahamas with some models after hitting a hot streak at party bingo so Mike Ciccarone steps in for him this week on the show.

2012 NFL Week 5 Picks and Podcast

It’s the Week of the Favorites according to our panel. The favorite was picked to win the game 86% of the time and they cover most of the time as well.

We’re also looking to rebound from an abysmal week of Locks. You know Trevor’s got the Niners -9.5 this week. Scroll down for the rest of our picks and locks.

2012 NFL Week 4 Picks and Podcast

Dear refs: Welcome back… welcome backs… welcome back. It’s so nice of Goodell to be completely honest with the fans and say that the Monday Night Football debacle had nothing to do with the timing of the labor agreement. Sure, Roger, and there’s a fat out of shape quarterback named Jamarcus we’d like to sell you.

Anyway, we’re the replacement games are done and we’re back to normal. Now when your team loses because they suck, there’s nobody to blame except your crappy team.

When you win your fantasy football game on Sunday, don’t pull a Michael Turner and get arrested for DUI. Other than that, we have no other advice for you except to bet the farm when you think it’s time to bet the farm.

2012 NFL Week 2 Picks and Podcast

The thing to remember about week 2 of the NFL season is not to overcorrect. Yes, everyone was shocked by the Cowboys beating the Giants but don’t write off the Giants or anoint the Cowboys just yet. Plenty of good games this week to analyze and bet if you’re so inclined.

2012 NFL Week 1 Picks and Podcast

We’re back with the 8th year of the NFL Picks podcast. A few changes this year as we’ve moved into a 3 man booth. Apparently Ron Jaworski Ryan McGowan is not hip enough to connect with our younger audience. Ryan will still be making his picks and locks every week but only occasionally appear on the show.

So you’re stuck with Vin, RJ, and Burton/Peso. Mike Ciccarone is now the low man on the totem pole and will be filling in on weeks when one of us has better things to do.

Anyway, welcome back to the podcast — we know you missed us. The featured games this week are Bills at Tebows, Niners at Packers, and Steelers at Broncos.

2011 NFL Conference Championship Picks and Podcast

Down to the final four and the Patriots are now even money to win the Super Bowl. The Niners are +205, the Giants are +220, and the Ravens bring up the rear at +485, which curiously means their odds of winning the Super Bowl went down. This has absolutely everything to do with the beatdown the Patriots laid on the Tebows. We wonder if Super Bowl odds are locker room fodder.

We’ll see if the Giants are a team of destiny, or whether they just caught the Packers on a really bad day.

The featured games this week are… both of them.

2011 NFL Divisional Playoffs Picks and Podcast

RJ brings up an interesting question this week: has a team coming off the first round bye ever been an underdog? That might be the most interesting game of the week, at least according to Vegas. Can the second best scoring defense slow down the second best scoring offense in the league? Is watching game film of the St. Louis Rams really a strategy?

We’ll also see if the Broncos and Giants are for real. In Baltimore, everyone is healthy and Joe Flacco is already playing the no respect card.

The featured games this week are… all of them.

2011 NFL Wildcard Playoffs Picks and Podcast

Isn’t it funny the the marquee game of the week is the one featuring a team that’s not good enough to even win their own conference and a team that backed into the playoffs because everyone else around them decided to be the worst they could be? Must be fate. Or the hand of God. Take your pick.

Either way, this might be the worst opening round of the NFL playoffs we’ve had in some time. On paper. Which means this could be the absolute best weekend of football ever.

The featured games this week are… all of them.
