No. 1 Reason to Flunk Kindergarten

ESPN.com’s Chad “The Insider” Ford is reporting tonight that the NBA and the players’ union are near a collective bargaining agreement that would require draftees to be 19 years old by draft night. To paraphrase Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings: Mamas don’t let your babies grow up with their agemates …

Top 5 NBA Finals Game Sevens of All-Time

Every year a new NBA Champion is crowned. Every year a Finals’ MVP is named. Every year a city throws a tickertape parade for their championship team. However, every year is not this year in the NBA. In a clash of titans between the last two champions, the Detroit Pistons and San Antonio Spurs square off in the finals’ first winner-take-all game since 1994. Will tonight’s game crack the top 5? The Most Victorious Weekend Off

Sometimes the greatest stories miss the cut by four shots.

More often than not, this is not the case. But Friday at Pinehurst, it was.

Why Am I Watching Golf?

I have a question for you. Why am I watching golf? This is the question I have been asking myself all weekend. Golf is quite possibly one of the most captivating sports I have ever seen, but why haven’t I discovered it before.

Top 10 Heavyweights of All Time

The title of “Heavyweight Champion of the World” was once the most esteemed in all of sports.  It meant that whoever held that position was the baddest mf on earth.  There was a time that a heavyweight title bout would literally bring the nation to a halt.

These fights were like mini-Superbowls, everyone would come together and root on their favorite.  Recently, title bouts go on without a whimper.  The most promising young athletes are no longer heavyweight contenders, but tight-ends and small forwards.  I’m in a “let’s make a list” mood, so here are my top 10 most influential heavyweights of all time.

In the off-season of 2003 Vlad Guerrero was a free-agent. He was not able to be re-signed by the Expos because of their money problems and was a risk to many MLB teams. He had a back injury that year and some general managers were skeptical about his durability. Little did they know, the best is yet to come.

It’s Baseball- Have Fun!

For the last two weeks I have been watching the College World Series. I never really got into it too much, because to be honest with you I just didn’t care. But this year I am into it, I am into it like a fat kid is into Krispy Kremes.

I went to Arizona State and after seeing them finally beat Cal-State Fullerton after losing to them 3 out of 4 times in the past few years, just made me that much more excited about the CWS. But the real reason why I now love the CWS is because it is an escape from the scandalized and tainted Major League Baseball.

Victory for the NBA isn’t in the details

Thankfully, it appears that Billy Hunter was good on his promise to make one final phone call to NBA Commissioner David Stern before the June 30th expiration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

After marathon negotiations on Friday as well as over the weekend, the Players’ Association has come to an agreement with the NBA Owners and struck a deal on a new CBA. At the head of the line to show their appreciation for avoiding the second work stoppage in NBA history is the NBA’s Public Relations staff, thrilled that their services will not be necessary to rebuild the reputation of the league only seven years after having had to do it before.
