Images of Tom Brady’s Superbowl drives come to mind when watching Vince Young’s performance at the end of the Rose Bowl. Cool, calm, and collected.
Darkness on the Edge of Town
True Blue fans suffered a crushing shutout loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. As bad as the loss was, the first thing that needs to happen is for the Giants to totally forget about everything that just unfolded and start preparing for the off-season. There is a bright future for these Football Giants but one loss such as the one suffered today can trigger a series of bad events and destroy a team’s chemistry and faith in each other.

Dear Chris Mullin-
Dear Chris Mullin,
Congratulations! The Golden State Warriors are 17-16 and have a real shot to make the playoffs for the first time since 1992. From McClymonds to St. Joseph’s and from USF to UC-Berkeley, the Bay Area had always been a haven for high school and college basketball. However for the first time in years, the Golden State Warriors are stealing the front page in winter. Not since you paired with Tim Hardaway and Mitch Richmond has the phrase, “I doubt we can get tickets, that game is definitely sold out” been uttered.
The present structure of Division I-A college football is no stranger to criticism. Even Congress joined the parade of those questioning why big time college football can not have a playoff to determine its champion. Now anything that Congress questions has a pretty good chance of being restructured in the future, but the best ammunition for adopting some sort of playoff system still can be found by examining the bowls.

Syracuse has had to work hard for its nine-game winning streak and 12-2 record, but entering the toughest conference play in the country the Orange have to work a lot harder.
Jim Boeheim insists playing the 48th toughest non-conference schedule in the country has prepared his team for the Big East season. The Orange need more than preparedness, though, to be successful against a conference that hosts three teams in the top 10 – it needs consistency. And that starts with Gerry McNamara and Terrence Roberts.
Every year fans and experts choose their favorites to win the Super Bowl according to a wide range of variables. This postseason some will pick the hottest teams going into the playoffs (Redskins, Patriots), or pick the years most consistent teams (Colts, Seahawks). Others will pick teams that dominate one side of the ball (Bengals, Bears), or that have great balance (Broncos, Giants).
However, there are certain NFL playoff trends that spread over the course of several postseasons which can give strong indications of who will and who won’t win the Super Bowl.
