Like the Dallas Cowboys, we just want to pretend last week never happened. Nope. Those two bombs to Santana Moss never happened. Just like us picking the Lions. For shame.

Locks of the Week
Vegas Vinny: On the podcast, I took Cinci as my lock of the week. But since both Trevor and BostonMac have them, I thought I’d change it up a little bit and take the Carolina Panthers as much lock. They are in Miami but are only giving 3 points. Now I know they might have some emotional letdown from their big “revenge” game against New England, but come on, that was 2 years ago. I think the Panthers are a much more talented team than Miami and should win this one by more than a field goal.
Teri Berg: I’m taking Kansas City over the Broncos, though not taking either home-field advantage or Champ Bailey for granted this week. Playing at Mile High/Invesco is always tough, but the Chiefs defense has looked solid so far this season, and should keep Jake Plummer under wraps as well as contain Denver’s running game. As for KC’s offense, it’s interesting how both Indianapolis and Kansas City, both usually productive offenses, have not been scoring as much yet this season. Maybe coaches are figuring out how to defend against them. But in KC at least, I think it has a little to do with the weak wide receiver corps as well as defenses’ covering Tony Gonzalez pretty tight. The Broncos aren’t slouches on D — while they couldn’t contain LT last week, they sure got to Drew Brees. Still, the Chiefs’ offensive line will hold is one of the top squads in the league and will give Trent Green plenty of time, and the one-two punch of Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson will continue to pay dividends.
BostonMac: Even though they beat up a very weak and fraudulent Minnesota Vikings team last week, the Bengals look like the real deal. In Year 3 of the Marvin Lewis Era, it seems that the team that he has been working on building and the system he has installed is coming to fruition this year. Carson Palmer to Chad Johnson is fast becoming the Manning to Harrison of the next generation, and Rudi Johnson continues to make solid gains on the ground. Chicago was certainly impressive last week in demolishing the Lions (spoiling last week’s Lock of the Week) but Cincinnati’s balance and coaching will propel them to a road cover vs the Bears. CINCINNATI (-3) at Chicago.
Trevor F: I’m going Cincinnati against Chicago. The Bengals are giving three in
this one and I think they cover. The Bengals are a very good football team and I think have to may weapons for the Bears. I’m thinking 24-14 as
the final score. Take the Bengals, give the points.

So take the Bears $1,000 on Chicago.
damn you big philly $1000 on oakland!
This is kinda pathetic… how the only one person has a record above .500.
And its kind of pathetic how Trevor picked the niners over the cowboys, when in reality he knows there the worst team in football.
I thought these were supposed to be “experts”
I have no rebuttal for that. our picks have been pathetic. But, it’s still early. my record last season was pretty good.
I just looked up the ESPN results they’re doing only .503 overall. we’re doing .508.
And guess who has their best records? Hoge and Salisbury. You KNOW the world is upside down when those idiots are tops.
Your right Salisbury is an ass.
Couple things bout the podcast Teri Berg made a couple mistakes, saying cleveland was 0-2, and some others, but they people on the sportcast couldnt name a person on the cleveland D? Your supposed to be experts. You dont know who gary baxter is, or andra davis, orpheus roye? Cmon i would like you guys to have a little bit of insight on every team.
that was me who couldn’t name a person on the Cleveland D. And yes, I actually can. The statement was a somewhat flippant response to Ryan’s comment that Romeo Crennel could somehow devise a scheme to stop Indy’s offense. There’s no way that Cleveland in the first year of that system can do what Romeo did in 4 years with NE.
by the way thanks for the feedback. This is the first year of the podcast and it’s appreciated.
The 49ers I’m a pretty laid back guy so I’m not going to jump down your throat like everyone else does when you make comments like this.
(In my best Rickey Henderson voice)
I know Trevor Freeman better than anyone else knows Trevor Freeman and Trevor Freeman thinks the 49ers can win this game. The 49ers have been downgraded by a jealous, East Coast media ready to make fun of the Five Time Super Bowl Champs.
Last year, the 49ers were probably the most injury riddled team in all of football last year. Pro Bowlers Jeremy Newberry, Julian Peterson and Ahmed Plummer played a combined total of 11 games. The defensive line was completely decimated. Top pass-rusher DE Andre Carter missed eight games, all of which were at the beginning of the season. Couldn’t you make a very good case that the 49ers win 5-6 games if they were fully healthy? The additions of OT Jonas Jennings who was the best tackle on the market and draft pick Frank Gore will only make this team tougher.
On Sunday in Dallas they face a team with a statue QB (the 49ers had 7 sacks in the first game of the season) that just took a stomach punch on Monday night.
Do you mean to tell me that you don’t think we have a shot?
Teri Berg Like I said in last weeks picks, I really don’t like Teri Berg. I mean I’d really wish you guys would get some one else to do it.
The Editor feels this is the best response ever to a comment.
Well Lets just say this, Who on the list you mentioned were in the skills positions on offense, like QB, RB WR.
Yeah defense may win championchips but offense helps win games
You can’t win a game scoring three points unless your playing in a highschool football league.
Secondly the 49ers offense does suck, in fact its terrible and thats why they wont be winning more than 6 games this year.
Experts That Could Use A Little Help. I’m sorry guys, but this article is poorly written and almost laughable. You are supposed to be experts and only one of you is over .500. Also, when I am reading an article about who the experts like, I want to know why you like these teams. I don’t want to read three out of four of you tell me that you “Think” that they(Insert any team here)have a good team so take them they will cover. I want to read why you think these are good choices and why they will cover. A gambler like myself, wants to read stats, trends, and any reason why I would want to put my cash on these teams you are picking. I am not going to take a team just solely on your feelings and it makes the reader think you know what your talking about when you start throwing stats and trends around. One final thing is make sure you do a spell check and a grammar check. I couldn’t even really understand what some of you were even talking about. I am not trying to be a d*ck, I am just giving you constructive criticism. Good Luck! By the way, I like the Jaguars and Cowboys.
Teri Berg Wow she was so off on that game its hard to believe that matchup could have even been chosen for anybody’s lock
Teri Berg is horrible. I really wish she wasn’t one of these pickers.
