St. Louis became the first team in the MLB to clinch a playoff berth with a win last Saturday. When they get to 100 wins, it will mark the second time in club history that the team had back to back 100 win seasons.

Joe Crede could have provided the White Sox with some much needed momentum last night.

Boston really needs to win tonight against Tampa Bay; they can’t afford to lose a series to lower tier teams at this point.

Jaret Wright just can’t catch a break, now he’ll miss some time thanks to a piece of Eric Hinske’s broken bat hitting him in his elbow.

Chase Utley is having a pretty bad September to this point, hitting only .197 with one HR.

Florida still can’t find any stability in the bullpen leading up to Todd Jones, and I’d be surprised if they were able to pull out the NL Wild Card without that.

Washington is doing damage control after Ryan Church said that Jews are headed for eternal damnation, suspending a volunteer chaplain and issuing an official apology on behalf of Church.

Wow. The Padres lost 20-1 yesterday to the Rockies. I thought they were a virtual lock to win the NL West, but now I’m really not sure. At least they’ve made it back to .500.

Brad Radke is no Eric Milton, but he does lead the AL in HRs allowed with 33.

Pitcher Kameron Loe committed a team record three errors in last Thursday’s win over Seattle.
