Take your pick: Kobe or MJ? Oh- the possibilities.

Okay, we all know that Kobe Bryant has something to prove in this league, right?

Okay, as long as were both on the same page, does Bryant match up to the standards of Michael Jordan–dare I say it–the greatest player in NBA history?

What Would You Do?

Antonio Davis was born on Halloween. Surely, he’s had his share of practical jokes and April Fools-like horrors regarding his birthday. He is one of the most respected players in the league mentally as well as physically. The thirteen year veteran and President of the Player’s Association couldn’t have been more terror stricken than to see his family involved in an altercation during his team’s visit to a hostile arena. It should be noted that Davis is a former Bull player, so fans of Chicago are familiar with him.

Artest- Francis One of the Same

Put yourself in this position, and compare it to your current position in life, if you will: you’re making millions of dollars per year and you’re doing something you love.  Sounds like a dream right?

But, what happens when you’re not mature enough to handle the situation you’re given?  You’re given gobs of money to do what you love and make others happy in the process, but you act like you’re 5 years old?  Welcome to the worlds of Ron Artest and Steve Francis.  Perhaps they would like some cheese with that whine?

Dear Chris Mullin-

Dear Chris Mullin,

Congratulations!  The Golden State Warriors are 17-16 and have a real shot to make the playoffs for the first time since 1992.  From McClymonds to St. Joseph’s and from USF to UC-Berkeley, the Bay Area had always been a haven for high school and college basketball.  However for the first time in years, the Golden State Warriors are stealing the front page in winter.  Not since you paired with Tim Hardaway and Mitch Richmond has the phrase, “I doubt we can get tickets, that game is definitely sold out” been uttered.

You turn off the TV because let’s just admit it; Kobe vs. Shaq isn’t as fun as it used to be and the Heat and Lakers have been disappointments this season thus far. But hold on a minute and don’t turn off that TV yet. Here’s a look at the menu for the Lakers vs. Heat, Kobe vs. Shaq, Jackson vs. Riley…. well, you get the picture don’t you?

Race Isn’t The Issue?

When asked about having a school dress code, one may cringe at the issue.  Teens and Adults in general, usually don’t like to be told what to and what not to wear.  Well, in the National Basketball Association, much controversy has been stirred up this year. The league has decided to generate a league-wide dress code for all the players.  While this may sound like a good thing, many people have taken notice that the dress code specifically targets African American players.

Kobe or Shaq? Phil decides

To all of those who have crucified Kobe Bryant for thinking he can win a NBA title without Shaquille O’Neal, now is a good time to start planning for Bryant’s resurrection.
