Eagles sail- Seahawks whimper through trade deadline

Who knew losing two great defensive backs and two elusive running backs could actually make a team better? And who would’ve guessed acquiring two greatly needed defensive players, while keeping the core of your offense intact, would actually make a team worse? Basic summary of the Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks season’s thus far. I guess nobody in the NFL cares about balance anymore.

NBA Analysis: East – Atlantic Division

The 2004-05 season is about to be under way. With that in thought, I’m here for my yearly predictions and analysis of each division. This will be a seven part series. First I will start off with the East Atlantic Division. There won’t be many surprises this year out of the Atlantic but as they say, you never know.

NFL Week 7 Picks

These weeks don’t get any easier to pick in the NFL. We’re all hovering around the 60% mark each week, with the exception of Mr. X. I hate to call him out but what crack pipe has he been smoking? Well, at least he’s smarter than Merrill Hoge who still insists the Redskins are the team to beat in the NFC East and that the Eagles won’t make the playoffs.

The ’72 Dolphins still may wait to drink champagne while the ’04 Dolphins may end up sipping liquor

The 2004 Dolphins may not win a game…

I had a better title, but it was too long…

New "B" added to Yankee legacy; this one- however- a Yankee killer

Bambino, Bucky, Buckner, Boone and now Brown. The irony in it all, Brown didn’t help the Yankees, he cursed them. The man shipped over to mitigate the bleeding of losing Clemens, Pettite and Wells ends up injecting a powerful shot of opium into Yankee fans across the country. The sad end to the most storied dynasty in the history of sports took place on Wednesday, October 20, 2004.

Settling the score once and for all: The Best Coach of Any Sport of Any Time

Everybody knows who the greatest coach of all times is, and everybody knows that everyone who disagrees is wrong.

But let me give you my list.

Let me give you a list that does not include Vince Lombardi. Let me give you a list that does not include Mike Krzyzewski. Let me give you a list that does not include Paul Bear Bryant.

Let me give you the 5 best head coaches that are forgotten when talking about the all-time greats.

These guys are all legends. If I ask you if they were great, you’d say hell yes. But you would not think of them off the top of your head.

Week 6 NFL Power Rankings

Everyone talks about parity in the NFL. Well, where exactly is it? The league right is made out of the haves and the have-nots. The top 6 look very strong followed by a bunch of teams whose records indicate they’re better than they really are. Sure, as the adage goes, you’re only as good or as bad as your record says you are. But really, are the Giants or Jax a legitimate threat come playoff time? I don’t think so.

Then we have the bottom of the barrel of 2 and 1 win teams. Just terrible football teams that can only climb up the rankings by beating each other. It’s a small field, folks.

I Almost Bought a Yankee Hat

By Ryan McGowan

I almost did it.  I almost bought a Yankee hat.

I was driving from Boston to North Attleboro on Sunday for my dad’s birthday and stopped at the Walpole Mall, knowing full well that the closer I got to Foxboro, the more chance I had of accidentally driving into a state trooper setting out orange cones for traffic control, which would not be a good thing.  I wanted to get my dad a book at Barnes and Noble.  Hey, I`ve only bought him about 20 books over the years, approximately 5% of which he’s actually read.  Still, I figure I can get away with buying him books because at least I can read them when I come visit.
