Freddie Mitchell remained silent Sunday night because his play had done all of his talking for him. Number 84 caught one ball for 11 yards, which came during a desperate drive, against a prevent defense, in the closing minutes of a game, in which the outcome had already been decided. So if Freddie Mitchell doesn’t understand what his Super Bowl XXXIX performance is trying to say, we will shout it to him, shut up Freddie!
As sports fans, we all have that memory of that one game we went to when we were kids. We’ll tell the story a million times, and each time we’ll rememeber it as if it were yesterday
The greatest running back to ever play football.
It wasn’t a long time ago that the Oakland Athletics had three young starting pitchers with little or no major league experience. They were predicted to be at or near the bottom of the American west division by “professional” baseball analysts. These three starters were relatively unknown to baseball fans but became known as the big three: Tim Hudson, Mark Mulder, and Barry Zito. These three pitchers became the cornerstones of success in Oakland leading to four straight playoff appearances; their ages were 24, 22, and 22 respectively.
In a few short days, the Patriots and Eagles will face off in the most dramatic embarrassment of riches this young century has seen, otherwise known as this year’s Super Bowl. The NFL certainly didn’t need this. Unlike professional baseball or basketball, the NFL knows that its championship game will be a ratings colossus each and every year.

I don’t know where to begin.
For the last year, the impossible has been done time after time.
If you look at the two teams getting ready to battle it out on February 6th in the Super Bowl, the Eagles and Patriots both have experienced coaches, two great quarterbacks, and two very qualified owners. However, the key to the success of these two franchises, especially the Patriots, is their balance.
