Questioning KG

The thing about him is that he makes such a great commercial.  He plays with such effort and emotion that you want him to be considered the best player in the NBA.  His talent level is extraordinary.  However what has happened this season confirms what many have always thought.

Kevin Garnett lacks that “something” the great ones possess.

Return of the Upperclassman

This is an article I have been waiting all season to write.  I knew it would happen and that this piece would basically write itself.  Before I get started I would like dedicate this article to ESPN.com NBA Draft expert Chad Ford.  For everybody else who advocates taking high schoolers and foreign projects over the polished college upperclassman this one goes out to you as well.  The 2004-2005 NBA season should be dubbed the “Return of the Upperclassmen” as the best rookie performers thus far have been guys who spent some time honing their game in college.

Eight teams to watch in March

I’m going to be honest about this.  I am stealing this idea from either Seth Davis or Grant Wahl over at CNNSI.com.  I just think it is a great/ballsy move to trot out.  With college basketball season halfway over, I am going to list eight teams.  Out of these eight squads, one will be cutting down the nets in St. Louis.  I’m not saying to run out to your bookie and bet the farm on any of these teams, but let the record show that I have my finger on the pulse of college sports.  Take a look at my three major predictions from college football season.  At the beginning of the season I called Utah going undefeated, USC winning the National Title and Matt Leinart winning the Heisman.

I was sitting around trying to think about a current event to write on.  To be quite honest if I had slapped together another Hot Stove article or set of rankings I was going to leap out of my office window.  I settled on making a fun-filled list.  For all you NBA hardcore followers, please know that I am just having a little fun here.
