Locks of the Week |
[Editor’s Note: This year, we’re making the Locks of the Week a little more interesting as we have a side bet amongst the four experts. Vegas Vinny: The Bills are still getting no respect. They’re almost like the Titans. They’re 5-1 this year and 4-2 against the spread yet they’re getting a point against the Dolphins? Everyone must be enamored of the Dolphins Wildcat offense because I just don’t get this. The Bills managed to keep the Chargers to 72 yards rushing and the Dolphins are a one dimensional offense that features Ronnie Brown. Chad Pennington is efficient but he won’t be able to outduel Trent Edwards who is coming off a great week despite suffering a concussion in week 6. Bills (+1) over the Dolphins. $110 to win $100. (Balance= $925)
BostonMac: I will pick ANYONE against the Dallas Cowboys this week. They are in complete disarray. It’s even better that they’re playing the Tampa Bay Bucs, a team that is on a bit of a roll, with a quarterback that is playing as well as anyone in the league right now after regaining the starting job. Without Romo, the Dallas offense is struggling, and Brad Johnson’s ability to right the ship is questionable at best. Wade Phillips is taking over the defensive play-calling duties this week, which is another change and distraction for a team that in Weeks 2 and 3 looked like the elite team in the NFL. What a great week to pick against Dallas, especially with TAMPA BAY (+2) getting points.
(Balance = $1050)
Trevor F: Tennessee is only giving four at home against Indianapolis. That means
Vegas thinks if they played on a neutral field that the Titans are only
one point better. I am here to tell you that is not the case. Take
Tennessee and feel good about it. I see this as being the Titans coming
out party as their front seven is going to dominate the Colts. The Titans
are 5-0-1 against the spread right now and move to 6-0-1 after this game. I’m putting $110 on the Titans (-4) to win $100.
(Balance = $1305)
RJ: There are two schools of thought on the Dallas Cowboys right now. The positive, Bill Cowher Theory is “Our Back’s up against the Wall, We’re Gonna Rally Together and Take It One Game At A Time, blah blah. I’m going with the Jim Mora “We Look Like Diddly Poo Theory.” That’s the look Wade Phillips had last Sunday. Too bad he doesn’t have the balls to express it. The Cowboys are a mess right now and to play that way against the Rams is just completely inexcusable. I don’t know how good Tampa (+2) really is since they’ve been playing and winning at home virtually all season, but they are playing much better than the Cowboys are right now. Even going on the road shouldn’t be a huge factor. $55/50. (Balance = $605)
