Well, a long overdue abscence from the SportsColumn has subsided. Due to my success this year with the picks I’ve been making in my office pool, I will be posting my picks every week for the rest of the college football season. We all know this has already been an exciting season with many twists and turns, so please don’t go bet your homes on these picks. (Unless your home is about to be forclosed due to your awful subprime mortgate you received.)
I have truly been a terror on the betting lines this year, I only hope I can pass along some good luck to all of you sports enthusiasts. Each week I will be picking a game from each of the “Big Six” conferences with a breif analysis alongside. I will be using the lines from Sportsbook.com. (They didn’t pay for that advertisement.) I’m going to try to get my column up on here by Thursday of each week. Now that all of the rules and regulations are aside, without further adieu, The First Annual Steffey Report…
Cheesy Drumroll Please…It was a rough week this week, I went 2-4, please allow me to recover. I will post the new article Tuesday using the lines from Sportsbook.com. I’m looking to go 5-1, or 6-0 this week. Alot of really messed up things happened this weekend…

A Note From the Writer Thank you to all who voted this to the main page…I am pretty glad to have finally made it. I hope all of these picks work out, my goal every week is to be above .500. I really don’t except 3-3, because if you’re a betting man, this means you lose money considering the juice you put up. I always expect to be 4-2, 5-1, and mostly 6-0. I put pressure on myself by forcing to pick a game from each conference. If given the opportunity to pick any six games all together, there is no doubt in my mind I could go 5-1 or 6-0 every single week. I love feedback, so please let me know any suggestions or any games that you would like me to consider picking for next week.
Thank You,
Aaron Steffey
Rough Start… Very strange start to the afternoon…Northwestern commits a wopping 5 turnovers against Indiana, a team that gives up points like none other…Then, Boston College and Cincy commit 3 turnovers a peice, that’s something you can’t predict…I think Cincy can still pull out the win and hopefully the evening games will help me out a bit…
Ouch.. It’s official, I started the day 0-3, due to a combined 14 turnovers by the 3 teams that I picked. On top of that, the three teams combined were – 12 in turnover margin. The thing that makes me feel better is that the ESPN columnist picked the games the same way I did, I looked this morning. Hopefully, the evening games will make this a somewhat respectable day, but I promise to come back with a vengance next weekend, and will end the season above .500.
Sorry Guys,
Aaron Steffey
