This week finally brings the Colts up against a legitamate oppenent, along with matching up the Minnesota Vikings that actually has a winning record. This week is also crucial to so many teams chances to attain a Playoff Berth; here is how I see them ending up.
Note: Do not use the spreads if you wouldnt like to.This game will be one of the better games of the week, The Pats are finally getting their entire roster back on the field, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are red hot and looking like a definite Playoff team and possible Super Bowl contender. Also note that the game is in Foxboro in December so the Patriots will be pumped.
Spread: New England (-5) over Tampa
Advice: Give the points, to New England this is a must win game, and it’s in Foxboro.
Note: If Tom Brady does not play because of injury then by all means the Bucs will win.
Both these teams are fighting for a Playoff spot, and the loser may not get in (especially for KC). The X-factor in this game will be which running back, Tiki Barber or Larry Johnson, dominates the game more. Our guess is Tiki Barber. Note, this game will be played in New York.
Spread: New York (-3) over Kansas City
Advice: Give the points, Eli Manning should have a productive day with the Chiefs mediocre secondary.
This is a clash between two completely opposite teams; one is on the rise while the other is slowly declining. Denver wins this game by at least 14. Looks like Denver is going back to the AFC Championship game once again.Note, game is played in Buffalo.
Spread: Denver (-10) over Buffalo
Advice: Once again give the points, Buffalo does not have the offense or defense to stay with the Broncos
This may be the last chance the Texans have to manage another win this season, but will it happen? Not likely. The Cardinals at least played decent last week, and Kurt Warner is still throwing the ball well enough to get things done. Only question for Arizona is if they can run the ball effectively, and for the Texans it’s if they get ahead early, like they have a few times this season, can they maintain their lead. Note, game is played in Houston.
Spread: Arizona (-2) over Houston
Advice: If I were to do anything I would just stay away from this game, the points are to slim and the Texans are hungry.
The Seahawks are good. The Titans are bad. The game will end with Shaun Alexander over 125 yards rushing and the Seahawks will have managed to score at least 25 points. Note, game is played in Tennessee.Spread: Seattle (-8) over TennesseeAdvice: Give the points! Period.
This figures to be an excellent game, The Colts are undefeated and San Diego, after losing to the lowly Miami Dolphins, are looking for some redemption and are desperate for a Playoff spot. The Chargers are going to have to be excellent on defense and in turnovers to win this game, and if LT runs for well over the century mark I’m sure they’ll have a chance, but just a chance. Note, game is played in Indy.
Spread: Indy (-8) over San Diego
Advice: Tough call, odds are the Colts win by 8 points. The best advice I can give is to stay away from the game.
This is a must win game for the Panthers because if they do win, and the Buccaneers lose, they’ll be ahead in their division. It’ll be a home game for the Saints even though that won’t matter; the Panthers win the game and get their running game back to a consistent week to week efficient performance.
Spread: Carolina (-9) over Saints
Advice: Take the points, the Saints don’t even have pride to play for.
This game is going to be closer than people think, the Vikings are still hot and they are at home, but the Steelers are clearly the more talented team. The disadvantage for the Vikings in this game will be running they ball because the Steelers will not let it happen. And everyone knows that if you can’t run the ball at least somewhat effectively, then your chances at winning the game are pretty slim.
Spread: Pittsburgh (-3) over Minnesota
Advice: Steelers have more to play for, the Playoffs would be a short trip if at all for the Vikings.
After beating the San Diego Chargers last week the Dolphins are riding high, and it’ll continue. The Dolphins, if they win this game, have a shot at a Wild-Card and if they’re lucky maybe a division title. The key to winning the game will keeping turnovers to a minimum in the passing attack, if Gus lets loose three interceptions the game might be surprisingly close. Note, the game is played in Miami.Spread: Miami (-9) over New YorkAdvice: To big of a margin to take, the Jets are terrible, but against a team like Miami they are still competitive.
This game will be pretty close considering that both squads will be fighting hard to see who is the better 5-8 team, and the fact that the Rams have home-field advantage. Advice for this game would be to stay away from it, on any given weekend the Rams can actually show up.
Spread: St. Louis (-4) over Philadelphia
Advice: Stay away from this one, the Rams are to anemic to predict anything related to them.
The Niners are on a 6-game losing streak, and have not won on the road either. Things won’t change this week. The Jaguars can lock up their Playoff hopes against San Fran and they will be getting Leftwich back when the "real season" starts. Note, the game is played in Jacksonville.
Spread: Jacksonville (-16) over San Fransisco
Advice: Under no circumstance will the Jags beat the Niners by more than 16, take San Fran.
The only thing these two team have left to play for is pride. The Browns, now with Charlie Frye at QB are new team, but the fact that they have injury to their #1 corner presents problems with the Raiders dynamic passing attack. The key for the Browns to win this game will be to hold Randy and his group of talented wide receivers in check. Note, the game is in Oakland.Spread: Oakland (-3) over ClevelandAdvice: Take Cleveland, they are coming of a tough but impressive loss, on the other hand the Raiders are coming off a loss to the Jets.
The Cincinnati Bengals are one game away from a Playoff Berth, and the Detroit Lions aren’t going to have a chance at stopping them. A superior offense and defense will win this game for the Cincinnati Bengals, and it will also take them places in the Playoffs. Note, the game is in Detroit.Spread: Cincinnati (-8) over DetroitAdvice: Definitely give the points, Detroit has no chance of coming within a touchdown of Cinci’.
This division rivalry game will be crucial to both teams shot at making the Playoffs. If the Redskins want any shot at a Playoff berth they’ll have to win out, and the same goes for Dallas (although they may be able to grab a spot even with only one additional loss). The game is in Washington but the Cowboys want revenge after what the Redskins did to them last time they met.
Spread: Washington (-2) over Dallas
Advice: Take Dallas, they’ve been waiting all year to payback the Skins.
This match-up places the best running offense in the league against the best run stopping defense in the league. The key to the game will be for Michael Vick to gain at least 75 yards on the ground and over 150 in the air without throwing more than one interception. I know it sounds hard, but to beat one of the stingiest defenses you can’t make many mistakes. Note, the game is in Chicago.
Spread: Chicago (-3) over Atlanta
Advice: Give the points, the Bears at home in the cold.
Two teams; both last in their division, and no more than four wins. I don’t know what to make of the collapse in the Ravens organization, but a win here would take some pressure of Brian Billick’s back, although it’s likely he’ll be fired anyways. Farve for some reason or another has a bad game in Baltimore, and as we’ve see in years past he’ll throw multiple interceptions.Note, the game is in Baltimore.
Spread: Baltimore (-4) over Green Bay
Advice: Another tough call, the pack attack looked rejuvenated last week, but the defense in Baltimore will finally show up.
