UGA Fans don’t Fret There’s still more to Play for.

The fact that Georgia was number one in the preseason polls got Georgia fans excited about a national title hope. This was supposed to be a year that meant so much to so many people. The Fans knew that Georgia had a tough schedule in front of them. Actually they had the number 1 toughest schedule in all of football going into the season. With games at Florida and at LSU you figured that you would lose at least one of those but you would still be in the national championship contention come the end of the year.

That part of the equation came true when Georgia went in and trumped LSU at their own stadium but could not carry the momentum to the next game and got absolutely squashed by the powerful Florida offense.

Suprising to the Georgia fans, yeah, but what was more suprising was the home loss to a 24th ranked preseason Alabama team. Alabama came out bent on destruction of the bulldogs number 3 ranking.

The Crimson Tide blew away Georgia in the First half posting 31 points and allowing none to a very good Georgia team, or so we thought. The Bulldogs came out the second half determined to keep their ranking and national title aspirations alive.

They staged a late rally that had Alabama and Georgia fans alike thinking that Georgia was going to pull of a comeback of the decade, when the Bulldogs failed to complete a 4th and long and turned the ball over for the final time of the game, losing it.

So now the Bulldogs sit at (8-2) after the nail-biter in Kentucky, which is not a bad record considering what their schedule was like. Compared to other teams like Penn State two loses in the SEC is probably better than one loss in the Big Ten.  The next game for the Dogs is against a really sub-par team in Auburn. People had high expectations for the Auburn team, but they are disappointing even the fans of other SEC teams, in the poor performance that they have been giving on the field every week.

Georgia went into Aubrun and came out with a 17-13 win. They actually moved back 1 spot to sit at number 11. The next week is a bye week. Other teams will battle it out and Georgia can move up with other teams potential losses.

Georgia then goes back to Athens to play a potentially good Georgia Tech team, depending on what Tech teams shows up, Georgia should get another win and finish the regular season with a (10-2) record.
This will be the key game, even the SEC rivalry of Auburn and Georgia will not be as good as the one between the Peach State Rivals. Now sorry to disappoint the Georgia fans, but this record will not be good enough to get into the national championship game. They will however be ranked in the top 5 before going to the Bowl Games.

Depending on who Georgia plays, with a win, Georgia could end up in the Top 3 or 4 spots come the end of the year.

Now this is the best case scenario for Georgia. It could go 180 degrees the opposite way and Georgia will not even be in the top 10. So it just depends on how they play.

One thing is for sure, the two teams that beat Georgia will be playing in the SEC championship game, and it is going to be a great one.

Story is a little bland… Some humor could spice this up, and maybe not such an obvious bias…I like your story, I just think you could make it better…

Alabama was ranked #24 in preseason…
During Georgia’s bye week, when other teams are “battling it out” doesn’t mean Georgia can only go up…There is also the possibility that they get jumped…Just ask Penn State when Texas Tech beat Texas…

Keep writing, there is potential in this story…

Good Start  The story has a nice direction but I’ll second am’s comments and say you should make it jump out at the reader a little more.
It’ just get sort of dry towards the end. Overall its a nice story. Personally I would like too see Penn State in the national championship and I’m sure old Joe would too.

Still some more fixes… “What the fans of the Bulldogs did not see coming was the home loss to an 24th ranked preseason Alabama team.”  (Should be A 24th ranked…not an…)

There are a couple more fixes you need to make…Really read through it carefully…and make sure everything is top notch…take your time on it and put the best product up for voting…It may seem like I’m picking at your story, but I wouldn’t keep reading it and helping you if I didn’t think it had potential…It took me awhile to get up to the front page consistently and you can do it with more time and effort…

Keep Working…
