Just when the Boston Celtics were starting to get hot, Paul Pierce got injured, for 3 weeks. The question in the minds of Boston fans is: What Now? Well the Celtics can not trade for Allen Iverson, who recently got traded to the Denver Nuggets, and there are no more than one or two star calibur players, including Pierce, on the Celtics. So what is going to happen over the next 3 long weeks? I’ve got the answers.
Over the weeks that Paul Pierce is out, the Boston Celtics will be playing star powered teams like the Denver Nuggetts, LA Clippers, and The Clevland Cavaliers. Even though the fans minds are screaming “Pierce come back now!”, I think this injury is a great opportunity for young up and coming players to showcase their talents against these grade A teams. Some of the players I’ll be looking at are Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green and Al Jefferson.
Ryan Gomes has all the potential in the world to be a premiere player in the NBA and to be the future of the Celtics. Ryan Gomes can get points from anywhere on the court and is a team leader. Expect him to show up in the game against the Denver Nuggets because of their confused defense. If Gomes can show he is a better than average player, he will get more time once Paul Pierce comes back from injury.
Gerald Green could be the poster boy of the NBA by now if he got more time on the court, this is his chance to shine. With his incredible slam dunks and his ability to get up the court quickly he will show up in the game against the Clippers. Most of the Clippers are kind of slow but talented, but if Gerald gets court time and gets into postion, he will dominate the Clippers. Paul Pierce, watch out, Gerald Green will creep up and your star status.
Al Jefferson has been showing signs of being a better big man than in the past. Big Al has been heaped with injuries in the last 2 years he has played in the NBA but now everything seems to be going fine for Jefferson, as he has been consistently getting point in the 10’s and 20’s and some rebounds in the past couple of weeks. Al should have a good game against the Cleveland Cavaliers and should have good games throughout the next couple of weeks because he is getting better by the game.
So will it really be a bad next few weeks for the Celtics. As a famous line says “Tune in to find out.”

On the right track but… “the Boston Celtics will be playing star powered teams like the Denver Nuggetts, LA Clippers, and The Clevland Cavaliers.”
The Clippers are below .500 and the Nuggets are a mystery at this point, not to mention no Carmelo. The Cavaliers are a legit team but that is the only one of the 3.

Ryan Gomes? The former second round pick out of Providence that gets by even though he is vastly undersized at 6’7. While I pull for Gomes, I think you may have stretched that a little far.
“Al Jefferson has been showing signs of being a better big man than in the past.”
Celtics fans have been saying that about Jefferson for awhile now. I like Big Al but I can only stay so optimistic for so long.
Big Al Al Jefferson has 6 straight double-doubles in their last six games. If there was ever a time to be optimistic about him, now would be that time because he’s showing it on the court.
