When Will It Get Here

I can’t wait until this NFL season gets kicked off.  I can’t wait to see Chad Johnson’s next genious dance or for how T.O. will respond to Bill Parcell’s dictatorship.  I can’t wait until I wake up on Sunday morning, go to church, come home, and watch some football with some hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill.  I can’t wait to see which teams or rookies show up and step up to the challenge and who disappoints us all.  I can’t wait to see the underdogs pull out the victory with under two minutes left in the game.  I can’t wait to see the next record broken.  I can’t wait to see who spent the off-season wisely and who just goofed off and enjoyed the break.  To tell you the truth, I just can’t wait until the NFL season gets started once again. There are so many questions to be solved and eyes to be amazed when this season comes up.  Probably the biggest question will be if the Texans made the right choice in choosing a Defensive End instead of a guy you will get once in about a decade.  Will Culpepper actually throw a touchdown pass this year?  Will Ronnie Brown be able to run the ball effectively without his buddy Ricky?  Will the Titans be well off with their Vince Young choice or should they of taken a prolific Leinart?  Did the Cards get a stud or a dud in Leinart?  Will the Cards be a playoff caliber team with the rookie Leinart, the veteran Warner, the Edge, Fitzgerald, and Bolden?  Will the NFC be as good as the AFC?  Will the Steelers be back to defend?  There are many, many questions that I can not, and I mean can not wait to see answered.

The Arizona Cardinals really catch my eye this year.  With a running game in the Edge, they might actually be able to open up the passing game to two great wideouts in Fitzgerald and Bolden.  With the weapons they have I think they will be able to give Seattle a run for their money.  They match Seattle’s tailback with the Edge matching up with Alexander.  Their quarterback at times is about as good as or better at times than Hasselbeck.  Their wideouts are way better than Seattle’s.  The question may be in their defense though.  After all, defense does win championships, doesn’t it?

Then you got Miami.  They now have a legitimate QB, I think.  He’s usually had his ups in the past, but definitely had a down last year.  But if he can pick up his slack, he should have a great year throwing to McMichael and Chambers.  Ronnie Brown had a nice season as a rookie last year and should be much better this year with some experience in his belt.  He may end up carrying a bigger load than expected though with Ricky out for the year.  And the defense did pretty darn well last year and I expect the same from them this year as well.  They will surely give New England a run for their money this year, unlike last year when the Pats just cruised to the playoffs without any competition.

But with the season not even started yet, it’s kind of hard to make any predictions.  But I just have so much football fever that I am already going to make my team from each conference that will improve from no playoff appearence to a division title and make it in the playoffs.  If you haven’t figured it out yet, it is the Arizona Cardinals from the NFC WEST and the Miami Dolphins from the AFC EAST.  Oh yea, if I haven’t mentioned it yet, I can’t wait until the NFL season begins.

Now the question is, are YOU ready for some football?

Chose the right category!!! I’ve seen this a bunch.  People don’t chose categories, and the articles wind up with the “SC” logo on them.  Chose NFL, man!! Have some pride!!

I’m still into baseball right now But the draft has already sparked my fantasy football interest. I love Ronnie Brown this year as the Main Man in Fishtown. I’m also thinking of the Chiefs as a sleeper D, but it’s wayyy early. I guess I am ready for some football.

RJ Having been a semi-Chiefs fan for the past couple of years (I love Priest Holmes), I can tell you that there is no way their defense will be any better. People have thought that their defense would improve the last few years, but it hasn’t. It will remain one of the worst in the NFL. Also, they really need a receiver to complete their offense. In the tough AFC West division, I predict the Cheifs to third place.

Oh, lighten up Jackson. You win one game against me in fantasy baseball and you think you can lord it over me with football expertise? 😉

Right Category My bad.  I didn’t realize I didn’t have it under the NFL Category.  Didn’t mean to do that.  Thanks for letting me know though.
