Last week, we went an incredible 51-13 (.797) overall, with Boston Mac leading the way at 14-2. We’re looking to continue that hot streak this week as the playoff races heat up.

Locks of the Week
Vegas Vinny: Did you see the Saints-Jets game last week? The Saints played like they wanted to lose the game. Stupid penalty after stupid penalty almost cost them the game. The Saints are the dumbest, worst coached team in all of sports. Meanwhile, the Bucs stumbled against a ferocious Bears D last week but if not for the fumble by Chris Simms on his own 1, they would’ve beaten the second hottest team in the league. The Saints offense is better than the Bears offense but their defense isn’t even in the same league (rank #13 vs rank #1). On the flip side, the Bucs’ #2 defense will be able stop the #17 offense in the Saints. Look for a managed, if unspectacular, game for Simms and a great game for Williams against the #29 rush defense in the Saints. Bucs (-3.5)
Teri Berg: The Vikes are watching the tempest this week in Detroit with glee — this is their chance to move up yet another game in their division and in the conference. Brad Johnson has been managing this offense more calmly than it’s been handled in years, while the Lions’ signal-caller, Jeff Garcia, will be scrambling around like a chicken with its head cut off — as usual. Minnesota is on a four-game win streak, and will push that to give against Detroit. And I’m thinking the Vikings will blow that 3-point spread away. Their defense is looking better by far than it did the first half of the season, and their special teams play has moved into the top 10 in the league. In every conceivable way, the Men in Purple have improved significantly. Can’t say the same for Matt Millen’s Lions. Vikings (-3).
BostonMac: I can’t believe the Saints are only getting 3.5 points at home against the Bucs, a legitimate playoff team which has seen the development of Chris Simms who has been looking like a young… well, like a young Phil Simms (except for last week when the Bears’ nasty defense made him look more like Gary Hogeboom). The Saints are just plain awful. Yes, they battled back against New England two weeks ago, but the Patriots put that one on cruise control in the third quarter. Last week they were two feet away from losing to the Jets (a game that neither team should have won; they should have petitioned the NFL to each be given a loss in the standings to help them in the Reggie Bush sweepstakes). I can’t see the Saints making this a game this week. I can’t believe Vegas thinks the Bucs are only half a point better than the Saints, minus the home field advantage of three points, even though the game is being played at LSU. If I were Jon Gruden, I would be pissed. Locker room bulletin board material! Lay the points with TAMPA BAY (-3.5) in Baton Rouge.
Trevor F: Bill Walsh, Joe Montana, Freddie Solomon, Wendell Tyler, Jerry Rice, John
Taylor, Harris Barton, Hacksaw Reynolds, Ronnie Lott, Roger Craig, Jesse
Sapolu, Steve Young. Winners all of them………just like the San
Francisco 49ers will be this weekend. Not only do the Five-Time Super
Bowl Champs cover…..they win outright. Before last week’s road debacle
against the Titans which turned on a muffed punt, the 49ers had played the
Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears even. Niners (+3).
