NBA Power Rankings Febuary 1st 2005
Here are the NBA Power Rankings. Late as usual. All comments and concerns are encouraged.
The Post Up Play : 1/30
Good news for all the readers of The Post Up Play, this will now become a daily column! TPUP will be posted every morning, (sometimes right after midnight) for your viewing pleasure. Every column will feature me attacking the big three games of the evening.
Return of the Upperclassman
This is an article I have been waiting all season to write. I knew it would happen and that this piece would basically write itself. Before I get started I would like dedicate this article to ESPN.com NBA Draft expert Chad Ford. For everybody else who advocates taking high schoolers and foreign projects over the polished college upperclassman this one goes out to you as well. The 2004-2005 NBA season should be dubbed the “Return of the Upperclassmen” as the best rookie performers thus far have been guys who spent some time honing their game in college.
MVP Voting
As the season midway point approaches in the NBA, it seems suitable to discuss who the MVP is as of now. In my book the candidates as of now have to be Tim Duncan, Steve Nash, LeBron James and Shaquille O’Neal. Let’s see some cases for why each player should get the trophy.
NBA Power Rankings January 25th 2005
Thanks for all the support in last week’s rankings. Here’s the latest. As usual, keep the
comments and complaints coming.
More Than Jordan’s Sidekick
With the retirement of thirty-nine year-old, Chicago Bulls star, Scottie Pippen, one might ask the question, “Where would Pippen be if it weren’t for Michael Jordan?” My answer to that question would simply be, “Where would Jordan be without Scottie Pippen?”
NBA Power Rankings January 18th 2005
Here is the new edition of the NBA Power Rankings. Once again all comments, concerns,
cheerleading, and criticisms are welcomed. Oh and the Kobe pic will be back as soon as Kobe returns.
Obviously, I am not an NBA GM. If there was any confusion there, my fantasy team is certainly active proof that I have no business making basketball transactions of any kind.
Nevertheless, the fact that Alonzo Mourning has the nerve to try and negotiate a buyout with the Raptors makes me only slightly less angry, than Raptors GM Rob Babcock’s willingness to take part in these negotiations. Why should the Raptors have to pay this guy off, so he can collect a big check only to go sign elsewhere for more money?
Wait, now I remember, because they got the disgruntled Mourning in order to trade Vince Carter, and that makes it soooo worth it. Don’t believe me? Just wait, you’ll see.
