Texas Sized Fight Biggest Rivalry in College Football

By Sean Quinn

Someone should tell ESPN, CBS and the like, that rivalry weekend isn’t over.  The greatest and fiercest rivalry in all the land hasn’t even been played yet, Texas-Texas A&M.

Yes, we know that Michigan already played Ohio State.  Compared to the battle for the state of Texas, however, the showdown between the Buckeyes and the Wolverines is a second rate rivalry.

Who the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks Cares

You know your sport is in trouble when a month into the season, your fans haven’t even noticed that no games have been played.  You know your sport is in trouble when the biggest star in your sport has been retired for over five years.  You know your sport is in trouble when the television ratings for the climax of the season rivals that of a re-run of “Full House” (no disrespect to Bob Saget and the gang).  And everyone knows the NHL is not only in trouble, but up a creek, without a paddle, and in a quick sinking raft.

It Will Take More Than a Priest to Save Chiefs

Perhaps Marcus Coleman should have been cast as Forrest Gump because on Sunday at Arrowhead he just kept running and running and running.  Not even Priest Holmes, who became the all-time leading rusher in Chiefs history could catch him.  It’s quite possible that Tom Hanks himself would have trouble catching up to Coleman.  Eventually, though, Coleman stopped…when he reached the end zone.  Now we all expected something like this from the Kansas City defense, but when your offense starts giving up touchdowns to the opposition, you know you’re in a heap of trouble.  Not even Hollywood could have scripted an 0-3 start for the Chiefs.
