We’ve got a full slate of games this week including the start of the NFL Network Thursday Night Games. Don’t forget to get your survival pools and fantasy lineups set.

While we have many many guests on the show this week, we only have 1 special guest: The triumphant return of Fordham University Polo legend and original host of Sportscolumn’s Weekly NFL Picks, Trevor Freeman. We discuss the Penn State scandal and the biggest egos on all 32 NFL teams.

The featured games are Lions at Bears, Saints at Falcons, Patriots at Jets, and Vikings at Packers.

You can download the podcast directly (running time 120 mins) or subscribe to the feed. The weekly picks show is followed by a half hour of Poor Man’s PTI.

Locks of the Week

Vegas Vinny: (3-6, Balance=$600)Maybe the Cincinnati Bengals story is good. For people in Cinci. But there’s no way that Cinci should be tied for the division lead. They’ve had the benefit of a very easy schedule. The Steelers are coming off a tremendous game against the Baltimore Ravens despite the loss and are a proven team.

The Bengals have beaten exactly 1 quality team (the Buffalo Bills) and if you look at the talent on both teams, there’s no way that anyone should even consider the Bengals in this game. The Steelers are only 3 point favorites? That’s reactionary line setting. I love the Steelers in this game and will put $110 to win $100 on Steelers (-3).

BostonMac: (5-4, Balance=$1235) Free money from Vegas this week. And no, this is not a reverse-jinx lock. This is reality, people. The Patriots are in a tailspin. Their offense, just five or six weeks ago a high-powered monolithic machine, looks as powerful as Verne Troyer doing a power clean. New England apparently has only one play in the playbook: Brady drops back, avoids three pass-rushers, throws up a floater to Rob Gronkowski and prays that Big Gronk comes down with it. That didn’t work against the Giants and it’s certainly not going to work against the Jets and their army of defensive backs. The Jets are going to wipe the floor with their AFC East rivals by about three touchdowns. Jets 38, Patriots 17. When this game is over, the once-mighty Patriots will be sitting in third place in the division, regardless of whether the Bills win or not. Lock it up– $110 to win $100 on the NEW JERSEY JETS (Pick-em).

yup, Minnesota will be his lock of the week. i am sick of Burton betting with all these emotions getting in his way. it’s almost female like.

Forgot my lock so I’ll put it here real quick:

Ravens (-6.5) over SEATTLE. $55/50. Seattle is always a wild card at home, but Baltimore learns their lesson about not showing up after beating the Steelers.

Gotta love Trevor. Says he’s gonna “slow play” the Niners season and take it one game at a time.

Then 20 mins later says “I hope the Packers are 17-0 going into the NFCCG w/ the Niners.”
