Spurrier turns down Florida. If Florida has any common sense, they’ll turn down Foley.Hey Jeremy Foley! Who’s your daddy?
You just got stiff-armed by Spurrier, the guy you fired Zook and his entire staff with hopes of getting with 4 games to go.
You took this good guy and his staff and instead of allowing them to finish the season with a real title instead of one with the term “fired” in front of it, you dismissed the entire staff, but they can finish the season.
But Jeremy Foley! Who’s your daddy?
Your pick to replace Spurrier was a bust, and your reason for fire him during the season (and don’t say this was not the reason) was to get a head start in bringing back Spurrier. You failed.
Now you have to look at candidates you never dreamed of hiring, candidates that were only an interview to make it look like you cared and to pass the minority hiring guidelines.
Your job hinges on Mike Shanahan getting the boot in Denver.
So Jeremy Foley! Who’s your daddy?
Zook is the lame duck coach trying to lead his team to only a bowl game. You were the one who hired him and he let you down and thus you fired him.
Zook did well enough in his first two years for you to decide that he merited an extension. Yes, he was 9-1 versus the SEC East, but 7-9 versus the rest of the world. But that was your decision. It was obviously a failure.
Well Jeremy Foley! Who’s your daddy?
Your decisions as Athletic Director at Florida have not been good. You brought in Zook as a cheap hire, gave him a two-year extension, and them canned him seven games later.
I will not go into the coaches’ extensions theorem I have, (which is that every coach without a “safe” job that receives an extension will be fired the following season), but he fell victim to that.
So Zook is gone, but what about Foley? Will Foley survive this mess?
Yes, Foley will survive it all, but he should not. He does not deserve to survive it. He has made a mockery out of the University of Florida football program with the midseason firing and the now debacle of Spurrier adamantly not wanting the job.
I guess it is not a hard question to answer. It is almost a given.
Jeremy Foley, who’s your daddy?
Well, none other than the University of Florida. And after what has happened this week, I think it is time that they gave Foley a spanking. Or maybe ground him. Worst comes to worst, but him up for adoption. They need to do something.
Spurrier turned down Florida. If Florida has any common sense, they’ll turn down Foley.
Don’t be a passive daddy. Do something.
Be a better daddy to your son than the Yankees were to Pedro.
Get rid of Foley before he grows up and beats you to.
So goodnight Foley. I’m sure your daddy sends all his love to you. But don’t forget to meet him at the breakfast table tomorrow morning. A punishment might be handed down.
