The Purification at Lake Minnetonka/The Weekly NFL Blitz

Prince made it famous.
The Vikings made it infamous.
But it eventually became a Godsend. In early October, there was an alleged cruise out on Lake Minnetonka were some Vikings players threw what was called a sex party.  And right after that, the Vikings, as an overall organization, were like pirates without a plotted course, lost at sea.

But something more happened at the lake.  Some unexplained phenomenon that brought them together as one. Brought them together as a team.

As if they were purified.

After beginning the season 2-5, and then losing starting quarterback Dante Culpepper, everything seemed adrift.  But now after reeling off six straight wins following their 27-13 victory over the Rams, the Vikings has a chance to not only be playoff bound, but win the division.

But should we really be surprised?  Isn’t it what we expected from them in the off-season?

Acquiring free agent cornerback Fred Smoot and safety Darren Sharper, in addiction with getting linebacker Napoleon Harris from the Moss trade to Oakland, this is what we expected from the Vikings. To be NFC contenders.

Maybe we are surprised that it took a little longer for them to start playing as such.

Maybe they should have scheduled for the purification sooner.

More NFL Tidbits:
It’s a Tyning Shame…Didn’t you feel for rookie linebacker Derrick Johnson when he was flagged for holding Cowboys TE Jason Witten, on a fourth down that would have won it for the Chiefs but instead gave Dallas another chance to score to put them ahead.

However, he was vindicated…almost.  The Chiefs offense did what they had to do to be put in the position to win but kicker Lawrence Tynes shanks the 41-yarder.

I heard a collective sigh of relief from the Cowboys’ secondary when the ball went right(remember Redskins and Santana Moss scoring on them twice to win the Monday Nighter in Week Two)

And speaking of shanking…It is almost agreed by everyone that Dom Capers will be gone at season’s end.  But you can’t blame Sunday’s lost against the Titans on him.

Kicker Kris Brown misses not one, but two field goals (albeit one was blocked) that would have at least sent the game into overtime for the 1-12 Texans.

“I didn’t pull my end of the bargain today,” Brown said.

You think?

Opportunity Lost?…The Chargers’ playoff hopes may have just set like the sun over South Beach as they let the Miami Dolphins come in and beat them on their home field.  With a game against the Colts next week followed by Kansas City and Denver, it looks bleak.

And they say it never rains in Southern California.

nice article A couple of quick corrections:

not alledged but alleged.

Also, you need a period at the end of the article.

Nice job otherwise….
