Things are just as muddled this week as they’ve always been. We see four legitimate contenders (Pit, NE, Phi, Ind) and a handful of teams that might or might not be frauds. The rest of the teams are unbearable to watch. The NFL should be ashamed for making us watch Krenzel vs Henson on everyone’s favorite holiday.
| Rank (Pv) | Team | Record | Comment |
| 1 (1) | ![]() |
10-1 | @Jax, NYJ, @NYG, Bal, @Buf. One misstep and they have to go to Foxboro in January. |
| 2 (2) | ![]() |
10-1 | Ask the Colts. Nobody wants to play in Foxboro in Jan. |
| 3 (3) | ![]() |
10-1 | It took 11 games but they finally proved Merrill Hoge wrong by making the playoffs. Who knew they were a playoff team? |
| 4 (4) | ![]() |
8-3 | You get the feeling that somewhere down the line, their defense will lose a game for them. |
| 5 (5) | ![]() |
9-2 | Almost losing to the Saints at home is unforgiveable. Remaining games aren’t the cakewalk they appeared to be a month ago. |
| 6 (7) | ![]() |
8-3 | I’m sorry I doubted you, San Diego. This team is the real deal. |
| 7 (9) | ![]() |
8-3 | This team is hard to get a read on. They might be the biggest bunch of overachievers in the NFL. |
| 8 (6) | ![]() |
7-4 | Broncos fans are still seething about Champ getting burned. Small consolation that Portis is not having a good year either. |
| 9 (10) | ![]() |
7-4 | Breaking news report from ABC/ESPN: Favre solves world hunger while bringing peace to the middle east. |
| 10 (11) | ![]() |
7-4 | Is there any question that Moss is the MVP of this team? Culpepper had no business throwing that TD pass to Moss but he came down with it. |
| 11 (8) | ![]() |
7-4 | Doesn’t a muddy field in a monsoon favor the defense? Not if you have no offense at all. |
| 12 (14) | ![]() |
5-6 | This team is going to have a great time playing spoiler this year as it builds momentum for 2005. |
| 13 (13) | ![]() |
6-5 | Bye bye playoffs. |
| 14 (12) | ![]() |
6-5 | Only in an NFL where half the teams are putrid does Seattle stay this high in the rankings (and atop their division) after a blowout loss at home. |
| 15 (15) | ![]() |
5-6 | This team plays no defense and Martz’s playcalling still boggles the mind. |
| 16 (19) | ![]() |
5-6 | The good news is you scored 58 points. The bad news is your defense stunk. |
| 17 (20) | ![]() |
5-6 | They are going to be a playoff team… next year. |
| 18 (26) | ![]() |
4-7 | It’s inconceivable that this team could still be alive for a playoff spot. |
| 19 (22) | ![]() |
4-7 | Would you rather have horse crap or dog crap? In this section of the Power Rankings, you can get blown out by Indy and move up. |
| 20 (21) | ![]() |
4-7 | Just when we thought the Bucs would make a playoff push, they lose to Carolina. |
| 21 (17) | ![]() |
4-7 | I heard on the radio they’re starting Dave Navarro at QB. I wonder if Anthony Kiedis gets the nod at tailback. |
| 22 (16) | ![]() |
4-7 | Watching the Bears offense made me lose my appetite on Thanksgiving. |
| 23 (18) | ![]() |
5-6 | A promising start to the season ends up with them missing the playoffs again. Nice call on starting Eli, Coughlin. |
| 24 (24) | ![]() |
4-7 | The Saints are playing for Jim Haslett’s job. Apparently, they don’t like him very much. |
| 25 (29) | ![]() |
4-7 | Beating Denver was the highlight of their season. Too bad. In the NFC, they’d be playoff contenders. |
| 26 (30) | ![]() |
3-7 | Julius Jones playing for his Fantasy Football draft status next year. 4th rounder? |
| 27 (23) | ![]() |
4-7 | Blowing a 21-3 lead about sums it up for the season. |
| 28 (25) | ![]() |
3-8 | When you are known as a defense coach, giving up 58 points is a good reason to get fired..er resign. |
| 29 (28) | ![]() |
3-8 | Was there any doubt that the Chargers would march down the field on the Chiefs D and win the game? |
| 30 (27) | ![]() |
3-8 | Another season of expectations down the drain. Redskins fans, start getting your Nationals gear. |
| 31 (32) | ![]() |

One reply on “Week 12 NFL Power Rankings”
Holiday Power Rankings Being a Steeler fan, I have really enjoyed seeing any and all Football Power Rankings this season. However, I think we should open up a poll on everyone’s favorite holiday. I don’t think Thanksgiving stands a chance in the Holiday Power Rankings being that it is competing with Christmas, New Year’s, and Easter. As for the NFL power rankings, it looks to me like you hit the nail on the head.
