You want the good or the bad? Bad 1st…they haven’t held anyone to under 100 pts since the 1st week of Feb. That’s 16 games. The good…it doesn’t matter right now. They’ve gone 12-4 during that span.
2(4) 49-16
These guys are red hot with another 9 game winning streak. They have a Shaq-Kobe game on the horizon, with Laker postseason hopes on the line. The only question remaining is will they pack it in and rest Shaq with their double digit lead over the Pistons or look to continue their stellar play.
3(2) 48-15
Spurs are in a catch 22. They are the best team at home with a 28-3 record. So they’d like to have homecourt throught the playoffs. So here’s their dilemma. They can play Duncan and Ginobli ASAP and push for that one seed or they can accepts the 2 spot and rest Duncan for a strong run in the playoffs.
4(9) 38-25
I know what you’re thinking, why in the Hell are the Rockets so high. Answer.. They’ve won 6 of 7 and these weren’t easy games. Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, Phoenix and Sacramento, Golden St. all fell to the Rockets. With the exception of Dallas, Houston won those games on the road. Oh and the average margin of victory? 15.1 points per. Case closed.
5(3) 42-19
There recent 3 game losing streak, isn’t going to leave Sonic fans with a warm and fuzzy. Not only was it their longest such streak of the season, but all 3 games were in Seattle.
6(6) 39-23
Here’s what’s funny about the NBA. The Pistons followed up their 64 point effort against Utah with a 114 point out burst against the Atlanta. Well never mind, it was against Atlanta.
7(7) 41-21
Alright Dallas, there is no more excuse for not getting the 4 spot. The Kings are hurt and there are only 3 teams on the remaining March schedule above .500. With a cushy 4 games up on the Rockets, the Mavericks are in good shape.
8(5) 36-27
One could argue that the Grizz got screwed vs. Sacramento last week. But there is no arguing the fact that they couldn’t hit water if they fell out a boat vs. Portland Saturday night. At least got some revenge against Portland in Memphis Monday night.
9(13) 35-29
I’ve never heard of a Gm getting exec of the year for trading deadline moves but Ainge is looking brilliant right now. This team has mixed well and it’s converting into wins. They have put some space in between them and the “revamped” Sixers and can almost justify a possible 3 seed.
10(11) 32-30
Playing San Antonio and Phoenix on back to back nights is tough for anyone. But the Nuggets still gave Phoenix all they could handle after defeating the Spurs the night before. Denver is playing at a very high level as they battle LA for the 8th spot.
11(8) 39-25
Sacramento just looked to be turning the corner with 3 straight wins. But Brad Miller out till the playoffs, they won’t be making any more moves upward. By the way has anybody seen Peja?
12(10) 34-27
I just sent a memo to Eddie Jordan. “Let Jamison rest during this week or you’ll regret it later”. A healthy Wizard team is very dangerous come playoff time. With Atlanta, Milwaukee, and Utah coming up, there won’t be a better chance to get Jamison healthy.
13(16) 32-28
I know the Bulls are thinking they can move up out of there 6th spot that they are in. But I am 100% against that. They should do whatever possible to keep that 6th spot. In that spot they’ll play Boston in the 1st round. If they try to move up it’ll be Cleveland or Washington. See what I mean.
14(15) 32-30
The Lakers aren’t giving up without a fight. They are going head up against Denver’s recent winning streak. They’ve managed to keep pace with Kobe averaging 34 per game in the last 6. It didn’t get proven in a court of law but Laker fans are well aware that Kobe can impose his will on others.
15(17) 33-27
The Cavs have put together 2 key wins over Orlando and Indiana recently. A good winning streak would be big for them as they attempt to regain confidence. Oh and guess what, they’ve got Utah and Milwaukee on the schedule. Prayers have been answered.
16(12) 30-33
As much as I wanna say something nice about these guys I can’t. They are supposed to be an elite team and runaway with the Atlantic. All they’ve done is fall further back since picking up C-Webb. They need a spark and Webber is obviously not THE ANSWER.
17(14) 31-31
They’ve been getting their asses handed to them recently and it’s not looking better anytime soon. They are about to go on a 5 game road trip and need at least 3 wins from it. The sad thing is that, rookies Jameer Nelson and Dwight Howard have been balling, and nobody has noticed.
18(18) 31-31
Indy really can’t afford for J.O. to have an extended absence. Even though Philly appears to be lying down, Indy still isn’t very good without their superstar. All it takes is a bad stretch by the Pacers and they are done. Without a J.O. return date, a losing streak seems imminent.
19(19) 32-32
The T’Wolves were easily handled at home by the Mavs on Sunday. Now they’ve got Dallas again before going to San Antonio and Memphis. Their brief flirtation above .500 is over.
20(20) 28-36
Maybe I’m a bad person, but I am somewhat happy that the Nets are falling out of the playoff race. Reason being is that if Vince Carter had played this hard in Toronto, the Raptors would be in the hunt. That’s sad how he cheated Raptor fans.
21(21) 26-35
Too little too late. The Knicks aren’t technically they aren’t winning consistent enough to offset their terrible 2-13 January record. They’ve won 5 of 7 but have Miami twice, San Antonio, Seattle, and red hot Boston in the next couple weeks.
22(24) 28-35
Even at 7 games below .500, I’d call the season at this point a successful one. No they aren’t gonna make the playoffs, but they’ve already done something they haven’t done in a long time. Exceed expectations.
23(22) 27-36
Can somebody put a hand in Donyell’s face? Marshall lit up the Sixers and that game marked the beginning of the Raptors new role as spoiler. They’ve got Boston next. Maybe they’ll keep a better eye on Donyell in the corner.
24(23) 20-44
Incredible. That’s right, winning half of their games during their 8 game road trip is just that. Especially since they’re a young team and looking toward next year. Not to mention they beat Philly, Washington and Minnesota during that road trip. Write this down…The Warriors are a playoff team next year.
25(26) 23-38
Ok Portland now is the time to officially begin the rebuilding process. I would expect to see more of the younger guys (Telfair, Outlaw, Randolph) instead of the soon to be gone guys (Reef, Van Exel, Stoudamire).
26(25) 25-37
It’s safe to say that Milwaukee won’t be continuing their streak of 4 seasons of 40 or more wins.
27(27) 14-48
The Hornets are really bad. The worst part is, there is no light at the end of the tunnel. I’ll give Byron 1 more year before he leaves for greener pastures.
28(28) 20-42
You know, if I was Carlos Boozer I’d miss the trip to Cleveland as well.
29(30) 11-52
The Hawks are out of the last spot with their win over the Raptors. Odds are they won’t be out long.
30(29) 12-49
Saturday’s game vs the Lakers proved 2 things. 1, the Cats can play with a playoff hopeful team. 2, it only takes one player to beat them.
