Here are the new NBA Power Rankings. Comments, questions, and gripes are welcome.

1(1) 26-4 Here’s a stat that I haven’t ever seen before. The Suns have five players averaging 15 points per game. That is amazing.
2(4) 25-7 I was just about to give the Spurs that number 1 spot till they slipped up against Sacramento. Maybe next week.
3(3) 23-6 Very impressive win over smoking hot Miami. Wins like that are making this top 4 that much harder to rank
4(2) 25-8 14 straight wins was pretty impressive. Miami did not want to end that streak at home. Look for the Heat to have another winning streak heading into Seattle on Sunday.
5(6) 20-10 How come Dirk Nowitzki isn’t being mentioned for MVP? 26.7 points and 10 boards per game. I know they have other players in Dallas but without Dirk, this team won’t score the points necessary for them to win.
6(7) 19-9 The Kings are poised to go on a long winning streak now. After beating the Jazz and the Spurs, their next 5 games are NYK, TOR, ATL, NO, and DEN. There is no reason they shouldn’t win all 5.
7(5) 16-12 Minnesota is 4-6 in their last 10 games and sport an 8-8 road record. One big reason for their inconsistent play could be Cassell and Sprewell. Their combined scoring and assists from this season are 27.1 points and 7.1 assists per. Last season, 36.6 points and 10.8 assists per.
8(8) 18-12 Lebron makes this team go, but Ilgauskas, Gooden, and McInnis are all having great years. They deserve some credit for the Cav’s season so far.
9(14) 17-13 The Pistons have won 5 out of 6 and they averaged 95 points per game during that span. They aren’t playing great basketball yet but its coming around.
10(11) 16-12 Kobe’s scored 40 in 3 straight games in his attempt to catch Iverson in the scoring race. Look for that streak to continue as he takes all the shots in San Antonio Tuesday night.
11(16) 15-13 Jermaine O’Neal has played very well since returning to the Pacers on Christmas. He has averaged 20.7 points and 11.7 boards since returning. It’s almost like he never left.
12(12) 16-14 Starbury was must have been feeling very confident to call himself the best point guard in the NBA. In his defense though, he has scored at least 30 points in his last 3 games. In those games he faced Steve Francis, Sam Cassell and Jason Kidd. Not bad.
13(9) 16-13 Juan Dixon saved the day for the Wizards with his 15 points in the 4th vs. the Hawks. But scoring isn’t what they need. Defense is.
14(13) 14-15 Lets talk about average. The Blazers have zero 3 game winning or losing streaks. Their wins and losses at any point of the season have never been separated by more than 2. ie. 1-0, 1-1, 10-11, 14-15.
15(15) 14-17 Too bad GP had to end his streak of consecutive games played at 305. The good news is they could’ve beaten the hornets if I played in his spot.
16(18) 16-15 Maybe Bob Sura has solved their point guard problems. If that’s case, then the Rockets have nowhere to go but up. They’ve won 3 straight and have a big game vs. the Suns Thursday.
17(19) 16-17 The Grizzlies have now won 4 straight and are playing the kind of basketball everybody thought they’d play. Once they hit .500, expect them to keep going up.
18(18) 15-14 After losing 8 of their last 10 you have to wonder if this is how the Magic should be playing. I mean they were the worst team last season. I don’t believe they are this bad, but they haven’t done much lately to prove otherwise.
19(17) 14-17 Michael Cooper just stepped into Mission Impossible. If he wants to keep that job in Denver, he needs to find out why his team has been underachieving all season. Good luck with that.
20(20) 10-18 The High School All American team has played well as of late. And in case you didn’t know, Ben Gordon is the real deal.
21(21) 14-16 When Allen Iverson is hot, the 76ers are tough to beat. Their current 8 game road trip is brutal, but Iverson’s hot shooting has them 4-2 with Utah next.
22(23) 11-18 That alley-oop off the glass is exactly what I’ve been waiting to see since Vince Carter got to New Jersey.
23(22) 15-15 After an awful December the Clips have came out with straight wins in January. With wins over Philly and Denver, they might have that November magic back.
24(24) 11-20 The Warriors showed that they could play decent basketball during their 4 game winning streak last week. Decent won’t cut it out West, but it will boost confidence.
25(23) 11-21 Chris Bosh says he might not be ready to take over as “the man” in Toronto. Well he better get ready soon because they have no other options.
26(27) 9-18 The fun wagon was goin pretty good with that little winning streak. It just came to a screeching halt with their current 2-game losing streak.
27(26) 11-21 The losing continues. They cant score and they haven’t played any defense since Kirilenko went out. The losing will continue, till he gets back.
28(28) 7-21 The good thing is that Emeka Okafor has wrapped up the Rookie of the year award. That’s the only good thing.
29(29) 5-24 Hopefully all the losing the Hawks go through this season won’t send young Josh Smith into a funk. He is gonna be a good one.
30(30) 2-27 8 straight losses and counting. That 9-73 record is highly possible.

Clippers and Sixers Below the 10 win Bulls? Get the fug out of here.

Sixers are winning the ATLANTIC so you should bump them to top 10 and save time.

sixers I don’t get it either.  They just dropped a couple bad games to Denver and LAC but how about beating the Sonics?

Despite not having much of a shot to do any damage in the playoffs, the SIxers WILL win the Atlantic.

Sixers Philly is a real hard team to read. You can make a case to put them a little higher than 21
but they are not top 10. Honestly not even top 15. Sorry I just dont believe anybody in the
Atlantic will be in the top 10. Thanks for comments though.
