Here is another edition of the NBA Power Rankings. The Eastern conference is proving that
it is the NBA’s equivalent of the NFL’s NFC. Maybe even worse. Enjoy.

| 1(3) | ![]() |
16-3 | It was only a matter of time before the Spurs got the top spot. I suspect they wont lose it any time soon. |
| 2(4) | ![]() |
11-5 | The T’Wolves swept a pretty difficult West road trip. Looks like they are back to last years form. |
| 3(1) | ![]() |
14-3 | They bounced back from a home loss to Minnesota by destroying the Trail Blazers in Portland. They’ve won 9 out of their last 10. |
| 4(2) | ![]() |
15-3 | Avenged their loss in Portland by beating the Blazers in Seattle 3 days later. Back to back road games vs. the Spurs and Mavs are next. |
| 5(6) | ![]() |
12-5 | Same old Kings. Score 100.3 per game, give up 99.9. They’re winning now, but they’ll have to improve defensively to keep winning out west. |
| 6(5) | ![]() |
12-7 | Nowitzki needs help. With Finley hurt and Stackhouse shooting a career low 36.8%, Dirk could have a few more 50 pt. games. |
| 7(10) | ![]() |
11-6 | Heres an interesting stat. James is shooting 50% from the field while C Ilgauskas is shooting about 47%. Somebody tell Lebron he is a 2nd year player. |
| 8(11) | ![]() |
11-7 | Just for fun, imagine where the Clips would be with Kobe Bryant. I know kinda scary. |
| 9(13) | ![]() |
10-7 | I wanna say something’s wrong in Denver. But I can’t. Believe it or not, they’ve won 8 of 10. |
| 10(9) | ![]() |
10-7 | Rumor has it that Laker fans are concerned about the Clippers Saturday night. They should be. |
| 11(12) | ![]() |
11-6 | Next 5 games are on the road vs. Utah, the Warriors, the Lakers, the Suns, and the Spurs. 3-2 record in those games is a success |
| 12(15) | ![]() |
10-5 | Jamison, Arenas, and Hughes combined PPG this season is 64.5. 3 years ago in Golden St it was 42.8. Maybe they like the cold weather in DC. |
| 13(16) | ![]() |
9-8 | The Pistons held the Mavs to 33% from the field and 14% from downtown. Now that’s the defense we expected to see with Big Bens return. |
| 14(7) | ![]() |
12-7 | Anybody wonder if Shaq is gonna take credit for turning D Wade to a superstar. Well he did, sort of. Wade is picking up Shaq’s slack. |
| 15(8) | ![]() |
10-7 | With 4 straight losses, the Honeymoon is over. They do have 2 games vs. the Bucks to end the losing streak though. |
| 16(18) | ![]() |
8-8 | This is a playoff team, if they were to move to the Eastern Conference. |
| 17(17) | ![]() |
8-8 | The Knicks are probably the best team in their division. That’s not saying a whole lot. |
| 18(21) | ![]() |
7-11 | If Van Gundy takes the cuffs off of McGrady permanently, this team should see an improvement. |
| 19(14) | ![]() |
8-10 | The slide continues. This team cannot afford to lose anybody. Especially Kirilenko. |
| 20(20) | ![]() |
7-10 | Celts gave up 110 to the Warriors, who are averaging an awful 88.9 PPG. At least they know what to fix now. |
| 21(23) | ![]() |
6-12 | New coach Mike Fratello has a mountain to climb. The Grizz were supposed to be a top seed playoff team. They gotta fight to get back to .500. |
| 22(28) | ![]() |
5-12 | As bad as the Nets have played, they are only 3.5 out of the division lead. Oh and Jason Kidd is back. |
| 23(22) | ![]() |
7-13 | Not sure if Alston was serious or not, but the last guy who hinted at time off was Ron Artest. We all know what happened next. |
| 24(19) | ![]() |
6-11 | That was about as bad(0-5) as it can get for a road trip. They now host Minnesota before going to Chicago. |
| 25(25) | ![]() |
4-11 | I like what the Cats are doing. Kareem Rush could be a big pickup for them. |
| 26(24) | ![]() |
4-10 | I wonder if Michael Redd has nightmares about Kobe Bryant. I would. |
| 27(26) | ![]() |
5-12 | Brick. Brick. Brick. That’s the sound of 39.5% from the field. And it’s coming out of Oakland. |
| 28(27) | ![]() |
3-14 | No D in ATL. Giving up almost 102 PPG while only averaging 89 means about 12 wins. Maybe 13. |
| 29(30) | ![]() |
2-13 | Luol Deng has the numbers(15.2PPG, 5.6RPG) of a potential rookie of the year. As long the Bulls lose games, he doesn’t have a chance. |
| 30(29) | ![]() |
