AS CBA EXPIRATION APPROACHES

Major League Baseball (MLB) should be enjoying the fruits of an above average 2011 post-season performance, which will be crucial to the impending expiration of its Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) on December 31, 2011.
At a time when NYC and NY state are both eliminating important public services due to budget shortfalls, as are many states across the country, it is incumbent for taxpayers to know far more comprehensively the machinations of the public financing of its stadiums.
If MLB does not proceed with caution and realize it has not merely entered the domain of industrial globalization but the world of global politics and diplomacy, it could prove damaging.
